Ok, lil update.

I've been using center of being on ST's and DT's, and i'm quite pleased with the results. I seem to counterattack quite a bit. Ranges from about 40% - 70% of attack countered.

Center of Being (while used on its own might not save you) combined with well timed Intimidate2's, Warcry2's and lower postures, it can make you very hard to hit indeed (not to mention high quality composite/ubese armour and doctor/food buffs).

The only problem i'm having with the above is the HAM usage. Juggling the 3 moves, plus special attacks, can be a bit taxing. Doctor/Chef buffs sort that out though.

Thats all PvE though.

Haven't done much testing for PvP. I tested CoB against a TKA master in 3 duels (on its own, no added intimidate/warcry/armor etc). While it saved me from a a couple of his attacks, it wasn't nearly enough to properly defend myself, and he managed to beat me relatively easily(without using CoB himself).

In one of the duels I think I counterattacked his first KD, so that was a pretty nice save, lasted alot longer in that one.

Although, admittedly, I was too busy admiring the pretty lighting effects to duel effectively lol.

Well my friend is a TKA and Rifleman and he just came over and laughed at me when the patch went through, as he was given gountles mod improvements to damage, toughness, melee and ranged defence, and the list goes on.
I was however thrust into an unwanted PvP battle with a Rebel named T'anis near Mos Espa who was riding a mount (I was there to place harvestors so I thought I'd just run), In the midst of all his flamethrower fire, I used the new combat skill and actually managed to take him out after I caught up to him. Took out his mount with one HH3, and him with 2.
I was buffed to 1500 health and had composite armour on, but I figured I was toast once the flames started comming so something must be working at least a little.

My issue has been, and still is, the redundancy (is that a word?) of our attacks. Can we at least get a blind, or a stun, or a dizzy? (One that sticks all the time that is)

I'm actually quite pleased with the new patch. I like the fact that Finesse III isn't empty any more. It's psychological, but it's nice to have something there anyway (especially since I just trained to it tonight).

I like the red streaky things on specials. I can see why others don't, but I personallylike them.

I really like center of being although I could wish for it to last longer (even if it cost more mind). Maybe this comes with higher level.

I haven't checked the out of range issue.

Overall I'm pretty pleased. Bring on the scythe, make it so that I don't get "out of range" when a stormtrooper is kiting me, give me a fewnew weapons choices to choose from, and, I can wish, a knockdown move and I'll be a happy swordsman.

May be it just me, but it seems like the NPCs are kiting alot. Every mission I ran today Iway was chasing NPC all over the place. Seem to run faster( i have Exploration IV), i could not keep up with them. I had very hard time keeping them in range. These were level 10 missions.Just wondered if anyone had noticed this.

Our bleed attacks have always hit a random pool and then "procs" the mind bleed.

I was using the new bleeds on dathomir today, and It didn't really change the way I PvE that much. When the mobs get to 1hp in the mind pool, the wander off all depressed like "Iiii'm goooonnaaa diiieeee... and nooo one looooves meee.." which gives me ample time to dispatch them with a mind hit whenever I feel like it. I like the fact that I can stack my drugs and booze now. Muon Gold + tattooine sunburn = happy Swordsman. You can burn specials like there's no tomorrow with that combo. And I tried the COB thing a few times. I'm 4/4/4/4 btw ( need app xp for master) and it lasted decently long. didn't cost alot. but I wasn't really watching the combat spam because a singing mountain clan hunting party + rancor had ripped out my eyes at this point in time. But I'm sure I lasted longer than I should have. And the pretty sparklies on my hammer are cool. That aboot sums up my post -patch experience so far.

i dislike the red lines, too phony. but the center of being is pretty nice. and the range changes are ok, i didnt mind the range problem, one thing i do have a problem with is the fact that i can miss hitting something 5 or 6 times in a row. and the -42 range modifier. and the change toDOT attacks seems to get me death blowed 15% more, and double/triple incaped 20% more than normal. which is having a bad effect on my clothes and other insureable stuff. like my gunmans duster is already down to 73% condition, when it was perfect condition before the patch.and that is all insured deaths.

You probably won't notice a incredible change in coutnerattack unless your a master, i was fighting a tka and their cob doesn't work right (not sure why). I counter-attacked plenty of times and i wona fight against a commandoe a cm 3 times, a tk master 2 times and the only fights i loss was against a buffed up 2k mind pikeman i was | | that close to taking him out and i got owned by a fencer with his amazing stun weapon. Fencers are reigning king now awesome speed and excellent damage with their stun baton and beautiful defense.

I'm a Battlemaster and the patch doesn't really benefit me much at all. I'll admit though that I do not fight much anyway since I'm a CH but still ....

Also, having seen Force Sensitive characters fight, I can say with certainty that no one will mistake a swordsman as a Jedi ...

I've noticed this too, I had three escaped singing mountain clan slaves kite me to near death. I have no scout skills, so it was bascially seeing how long I could last trudging up and down hills, and across fields in my composite while spamming /healdamage self.

I have a 3/4/2/3 swordsman on radiant. On this thread ive seena lot of people saying that swordsman suck at dueling. Although we are still at a disadvantage concerning the kd, dizzy, etc...whenever i duel someone and we agree that there will be none of this "cheap **edit**"i almost always win. Usually 1-2 hits to the mind and they're down. even start the duel off with a mindbleed to help. I was able to win a duel against a master commando w/ a flamethrower just yesterday (he had a small mind amount tho)...One hit, BAM...hes down, i go down too but becuase of burning.

I love the new sword effects...looks like **edit** for everything except swords tho. --makes me feel like i have a lightsaber..

I too have noticed the running away npc thing. It only happens to me tho when im facing rebels..**edit** cowards. In pvp also, we can only expect the ranged ppl to kite us. What we (meleers) really needed in that update was this dash attack thing. Something to quickly charge up and hit the fleeing targets, possibly knock them over. That would increase the balance and pvp tenfold i feel for us melee classes.
