some very good advise added here as well.
Burst run : i "personaly" keep it for defensive use, if you need to get the heck out of there or split the group up burst run over high terrain is a good way, also with LOS somewhat fix the high terrain gives you cover once you pass it. By no means should you not use it in offensive, but remember they can burst run as well as you do. So keeping it unless you need it will keep you alive longer.
Grouping : grouping with SL is very useful, in pratical application i find no many people fancy being SL. its very unloved profession even more so than swordman.
These are good general PvP tips which can go on forver which was probably why it didnt stick in my mind when i was writing this guide for us. never the less good advise are very helpful for swordman. The art of the sword is to play basic well, people underestimate that and get caught up in too much fancy moves spaming.

Nice post.
I'll see about making sticky room. Normally I like to keep the stickies down to announcements or dev feedback areas, but I can make an exception for this if you guys want it up there.

tell you what Stgabe i'll add the template questions in as well and you put it on sticky, its been useful to a few people and looks like its been view a good amount of time, i made the post as information for all of us and the folks who often ask me about PvPing with swordman. I saw that TKA forum had thiers PvP guide so i thought well since we dont have one here i should make it
Ya know few months back when i started give PvP a real dedication my pvp guys slaughter alot of people and somebody ask my swordman partner "how did you kill all those people, you're a swordman" to which she laughs. didnt have a reply for that, just goes to show you how much it was underestimated. Here is some of my secret share to all
Not ALL mind you but you'll learn

yup keeping them busy on heal and wasting time/force points/mind/packs is a good thing except for jedis still have weak posture and kd defense so feel free to abuse it
i will update the guide with template questions tomorow

Great guide. I'm an absolute noobie when it comes to PvP (or a melee profession for that matter). I definitely have to find some people to practice on

my advise if you really cant decide how you would like to play is try going with scout first because its easy to get scout exp. if you like it keep it, if you not sure drop it for tk or fencer and see how it goes. if all turns out you like the scout better its easily gained not like tk or fencer which you have to grind

thanks for the awesome guide, i'm new to swordsman and i can see this helping out a lot. I just can't decide if it is worth the 15 skill points to keep scout or if i should invest it into some fencer or tk
