If you can get it low enough speed then yes.
But for grinding a 2h sword might be perfect for you.

meh, im not a fan of 2h curved sword much cause of dmg and kinetic, all u need is x-2-x-1 or so to use a ph well, mine is 187-426 @ 3.5, ive been using it to grind ever since, which was like a week ago, and im 0424 atm. O and scythe is great for graul mauls, not like theyre easy enuff anyway...

I started swordman 0003 and used my speed sliced scythe the whole time..blew through lairs in Endor and got master in 2 days time..I still use my scythe more then my power hammer..just love it toomuch

with a nice speed slice ph's can be really nice i just got one of my not so great ones done with a 30% speed slice now it's 111-586 with a 3.1 speed it's crazy i only have novice yet i soloed all he way to the acklay had it down 25% and a damn kiliknik got me

3.1 speed for a speed slice o.O...my scythe was 1.4 speed and it was so fast...sigh when I repaired it, it broke sob

The powerhammer is better for blast and if you have skill tapes that counteract the speed(usualy round 5.6) and the range (tends to be -32 or so)
The Scythe is faster (2.6 base) and better range (round 0) with kenetic dmg. But with less overall dmg than powerhammer. And are more expensive.
So whatever u want to spend and what your looking to grind on or trying to destroy.

I generally use the powerhammer in PvE... scythe in PvP. The powerhammer definitely deals more damage, and I hit at the speed cap... same as scythe in all those respects. But you can't beat the scythe's accuracy in PvP. If you've ever tried PvPing with the powerhammer you'd know what I mean.
