Sup takami!

i believe toughness actually effects all damage types, Helson and i have tested it. So you can negate that blast dmg by toughness also.

but yea a lot of people only have 80% kinetic since its often a special protection layer. thats why most of the better pvprs have stun and electricity as the special protection as opposed to stun and kinetic.

+80 speed and I'll still kick your ass.

once you get speed capped just buy a crate of 2-h swords and take 30%+ dmg sliced ones, they are almost as good as scythes and you can use lots of powerups since the swords are cheap. Rancor teeth can also make some nice swords. Especially 100+ dmg rancor teeth

/agree

Specially because the most I've seen a scythe for is about 480 damage with a 240 min. Where as I've seen PH's with 400+ mins and 900+ maxes.

heh, this was made clear for me once, but as i understood it (or think i understood it rofl)

is that one takes 90% of the dmg..... the other takes 50% of the dmg, and then 90% off of that (given 90% resist of course)

That is, say pure dmg of 1000---- armor takes 90% leaving 100 dmg....

other would be 1000 dmg---divide by 2=500, and 90% of that making 50 dmg...

hmm, running these numbers now tho makes me not so sure of this anymore lol

Maybe my numbers are not correct, but I know for a fact that these are not the same and Special Protection is "better" that is, takes more dmg than effectiveness.....

heheh

please do correct me in all my misunderstandings lol

okay here i'll help on for the armor part.

let get this down first.
Special Protection max % is 80% and cannot be sliced for more.

Basic Effectiveness max % is 80% for being crafted and can be sliced to a max of 90%

To hit 90% armor is hard it takes many armor to hit the prefect slice.

And as far as i know Special Protection is not better then normal it's just for the AS numbers.

Far as ur number eh.. close it's a long story for what armor does. Then u have count in if the person as toughness.

For scythe vs PH i use both. I have 2 type of scythes and 4 different types of PH's

first scythe is a normal high dmg scythe 530 with p/u and the sec one is a one with a idea mod range of +22 to hit ppls that i can't.

For PH's one with mod range of +0 but as low dmg, 2nd around -5 for mods with 603 max dmg 3rd a normal crafted high dmg PH's with a mod -31 and the last one is my acklay PH.

I use each one for one the battle calls for. I normal have to finish with my mod range with dmg PH in the end. My server as too many above 80% base armor flying around so it hard for swordsman there.

Can I ask a similar question...

I am nearly Master Swordsman (4-4-4-3) but have no tapes so my speed is "normal".

Should I just check the resists then choose between Scythe or PH?

Thanks, and not meaning to hijack the thread !!

usually a bad idea, sure, the max is similar or even higher than scythe, but the min on 2h swords is terrible, like 30-50. with melee mitigation, your opponent will not get hurt at all. scythes have mins of 250ish, and thats why theyre worth so much more, used so much more, and much better for pvp

*cough* them acklay hammers ain't so hard to get good min dmg, I mean, I got a speed sliced acklay hammer, it's still like 260 min dmg,

i know the 2-h swords have low min dmg, i was talking for PVE really, in pvp i use a 503 dmg scythe or a 800 dmg hammer. THe swords are just cheaper for PVE
