Thread: Elders and Stun Batons

for those that played before the NS were nerfed of force powers have you noticed that choke is now a joke compared to before? that and the stun baton and bleeds are not from back then. gone from Strong, to kinda weak(soloable by one), to uber now. died when i rushed one alone,did not do to wellwith doc and ent buffs, mind bleed ended up killing me without medic.

Do you use CoB? Intimidation?

Elders cause 2 things... Boredom and shreaded armor.

I'm not sure what's causing you to die so quick. Seems like with what you posted you should stop fighting them if you cant win. The Devs have stated many times that people are soloing a hell of a lot more things than they were "supposed to".

I think Elders would fit into that catagory.

I think the NPC's using weapons is a great change, I can't remember when I've had more fun with the nightsisters. I used to go out there and macro kill everything, can't do that anymore... now I have to think, I have to try to keep from agroing more than one or two at a time...


Now I don't go out there by myself, I go out with my mates. We die, we laugh, we go back, we die... rinse and repeat... cloning and insurance is cheap, and this is some fun content!


Now, I was pretty disappointed when I got wailed by a spellweaver with a stun baton using lightsaber moves But hey, the risk is half the fun!


As an aside, watching my rifleman buddy trying to run away once me (TKM/MHS/MB/Fencer/Novice Medic) and my buddy (MHS/MD) went down was well worth the cloning/insurance cost

Since the patch seems that the only elders I find have stun batons. It kinda sucks you dont' know what weapon they will use till you are getting hit with it. The first one did a cascade of hatred on me and my doc friend and killed us both with that one shot, hit each of us for over 3k damage. The second ran in hit me twice one for over 2k and one for 1400, I ran and made it away with almost no health. The rest of the nightsisters are pretty easy now, even if they have a stun baton. The one thing that kills me everytime, and unfortunelty I really mean everytime /cry, is KD Dizzy. I need to rework my stacker template for the def vs. kd and dizzy. The protectors are the hard part now for me, as they seem to always be the kd dizzy ones.

My buddy and I take down Elders down to bottom of the barrel sisters w/ Stun bats,


we are both MSwords/TKM/Medic 0440 and some scout


dont know what your doing wrong but fix it.


you could always bring a CM for mind heals that is only tough hit cuz you cant heal it

Tell me about it... I got hit by a Spell Weavers Stun Baton for 2600 dmg last night! I was db'd before my back hit the groundsothere was nochance for Force of Will too

This is very sad. SWG is turning into everquest, where you need to have 3 key classes in your group before you can be efficient : a tank, a healer , and a slower/mezzer . We are not there yet, but it is coming.
I thought SWG was great because you could do pretty much anything by yourself. Now I started worrying when they introduced the silly super battle droids with the corvette, and the the DWB.
Having to set up a group or to be lfg before you can do anything serious is no fun imo.





Sorry but your completely wrong and its because you are still too new to the game to know what the game was really meant for. SWG was never meant to be the solo everything game it is now......the reason this happened was the Devs felt they needed to rebalance all professions and creatures. So following their plan they first balanced the creatures nerfing them completely. At the time it wasn't that big of an issue because buffs and armor sucked back then so we weren't able to solo everything. Groups were needed back then to be able to handle anything really big, heck it use to take groups of 10-20 to take on Krayts back then or a few AT-STs.


However with fixes to armor and buffs getting better and better and the Combat Balance getting pushed further and further back, we are now in a game where you can just about to solo anything. Sorry but it never was like this in the beginning and was never meant to become like this so I'm glad they are finally making it back to what it use to be.

group of 4, wetook 2 elders with stun batons. 2 speed capped swordsmen, capped rifleman, and another HS. I tanked I has wearing 39% stun armor, no problems.

I personaly like having to have a group to hunt high end NPCs and to do the Corvette, and Death Watch Bunker,it gives the game a more realistic feal. And plus you can still solo Jantas, Geosand stuff so its not like you have to have a group for everything. But think, if the Death Watch Bunker didnt have such hard NPCs everyone whos a master commando, rifleman, and BH would have mando armor and if NS Elders werent hard,lots more peoplewould have uber weapons making them lose their uberness and become mundane. So as long as the devs dont make all NPCs hard to kill then im fine with the changes.

i just read the first post (not the others) all i goota say is BOOHOO my god we cant solo something for once you should have a big group hunting big npcs. if you dont wanna get owned then maybee fight something your size till you realize that you will need bigger groups more and more as the months progress.

Bigtime, the powers are a joke, their triple-sliced weapons and crazy resists are the problem...



MMM Industries, found at 2540 -4661 near Mos eisley. Food, weapons, powerups, armor, med's, speeders, repair tools, we have it all..


Offer all auction winnings to the food vendor at said waypoint..

Of course I used COB. I have it on a looping macro. Of course I used Intimidate...what do you think I am? A moron? I have been killing elders, solo and in groups since LAST August.


The point was NOT that Elders are no longer solo-able, the point WAS that if you see one whip out a stun bat...to run. I thought that was eminantly clear in my first post. It appears that I shall have to degrade my writing style down to a 3rd grade level.

CMs have to heal after every hit when the elder has a stun stick, and sometimes, even that isn't enough. Haven't yet had the chance to round up a group with more than one CM in it..but getting that Uber Group to go after Elders is a moot point, since everyone is so used to the old style of play and loot-whoring all day long solo.


Elder with any other weapon aside from a beat stick is still solo-able. It gets a little dicey when they whip out a scythe, but still doable.
