I agree that there are a few professions that are too able to be stand-alone professions. The thing is, in current PVP you have to dabble no matter what profession you have. In most cases if you have a ranged profession, that is your primary for the simple fact it can attack first. Your secondary in this case is Swordsman. In which case the way you are fighting is effective, if the enemy closes in you have an effective way to attack the same pool your rifle was.

I have seen swordsman kick ass in pvp, and I have seen swordsman get their ass handed to them in pvp. As I stated above, you are only as good as your preperation.

Once I get my template finished I'm going to do a lot of testing of Fencer vs Swordsman.

Most of the universe's problems can be solved by the application of a brick to the side of the right head.
The problem is if you don't have a big enough brick or can't find the right head. The devil is in the details.

stun batons beat through composite a lot better than our stuff does [with AP not really working.] If those insane heat VKs go live, TKAs will pwn us like everyone else.

pikeman and us are relatively low min damage - high max damage, and when mitigation was put in,we were nerfed.

Stun batons only beat through composite without stun layers. Stun layered armor has become more and more common on all servers, which is equalizing stun batons (which is good.) I don't see a huge problem with TKA's getting another damage type, try pveing with a TKA against any form of high mobs lol.

If swordsman need anything, its more accuracy, and higher min damage on the power hammer.

I think Swordsman is underrated as far as PvP is concerned. We have several useful attacks, and yes, it is possible and quite easy to dizzy/kd a target. I went to Anchorhead to try out MHS in PvP and found that it did quite well. I even took on another MHS, a BH and a 4/x/4/2 TKA at the same time, killed them all using 2 hand area 3. The beauty of 2 Hand Area 3 is that it dizzies very well in PvP and will lower their posture in 1-3 hits. As soon as they try to get back up they're on their backs flopping like a fish while you whack away at their mind or whatever your preference is.

i have a funny feeling about combat revamp tho. no mind damage? hmm most peeps will look at that and flame and rant at first..but if you actually think about it. This could make pvp last longer than 30sec-2min per fight. you have to admit unless your in a large raid or battle, most times you run across overts your alone or in small group and the fight usually doesnt last long at all. Usually if your overt your buffed, armored and ready to fight. So...the whole fight come downs to whoever can do the most mind damage the fastest. i personally hope mind damage is taken out, or..as other peeps have said...stims will heal mind. i would like to see longer battles to see who has real skillz, i think it could be positive for swordsman because if they take out mind damage, i have a big feeling armor protections and stats will also change or at least have different guidelines in pvp. but this is just my 2cents

They are not taking out mind damage. In all likelihood it mind will be come healable, but there is virtually no chance at all that mind damage will be take out. That rumor is the result of people having misread one sentence then not reading the whole paragraph. If you read the whole quote, it is not possible to interpret what they said to mean mind damage will be removed from the game. The only plausible explanation to what was said is that they will make mind more healable.

More speed always good.

I'm pretty dangerous in PvP. I kill my opponents mind in... give or take... 10 seconds.

With my Scythe I usually can take most Kinetic armor. Gotta love Med Armor Peircing...

to be good at pvp, you need to do what every other proffesion pretty much does which is get tapes and good weapons.

I do not pvp much but have dueled a few friends, and well, i think its pretty good.

I have an 810 max dmg hammer and i hit at the 1 second cap. works for me

i mastered last night.

today, buffed, alone, with my best armor, and mind food i went looking for giant dune kimos on lok. i found one gurk king. and lots of dune kimos but no giants. lol, i did actually solo 4 kimos at once and it was awesome. i have to admit that at master the speed is better and im VERY impressed pve, lol. i knew i could kill one but not four at once. the was normal dune kimos.

anyway, i really hope the combat revamp helps out swordsman. if someone can kill 4 kimos buffed in normal armor (im master doctor also) then i think we should do a tad better at pvp. i dueled a few times today and won. but they wernt real duels. real duels are against all these godforsaken rifleman out there that kick my ass everytime i run into one in pvp. i try to make them come to me because only a fool will chase a master sharpshooter as melee. but still those jawas and t21s hardly ever miss up close, lol.
