hey guys,

im master doc and 4443 heavy swordsman. my question is does it get much better at master? because the little pvp ive done so far im not very impressed. yes, i have nice hammers and sycthes, and its a blast pve, but in pvp?...what are your thoughts and comments as master swordsman? ive learned one thing in swg, and thats not judge a class before you master it.

thanks for all your opinions,

To be good at PVP you gotta have a stun weapon, be a TKM and knockdown your opponent the entire time, or be a rifleman with an AP3 T-21 rifle.

Our medium armor piercing weapons do some damage, but with 90% resist composite out there, by the time you make any progress your dead against the previously-mentioned PVPers.

I'm kinda glad we don't have a stun weapon -- we'd be so uber we'd be nerfed to nothing.

I PVE all the time, and swordsman rocks.

Just hitting master wont make much difference for you in PvP.

However, a good Acklay Hammer, maxed out 2hSpeed SEA's, combined with HeadHit3 should do the trick.

Master Heavy Swords can be a DECENT pvp character if you have other supporting skills to lay down effects and possibly dizzy/knockdown. Now are you going to win against the fotm 1337 dewdz with a stacked rifleman template? or cm/rifleman? probably not. Where we shine is PVE with some supporting value in pvp. I still love it.

Swordman is really not a PVP profession , although i do use it on mind hit my opponets but it is very slow and you need at least master bralwer for lunge 2 so you can KD at 20m

very true

i have a funny feeling about combat revamp tho. no mind damage? hmm most peeps will look at that and flame and rant at first..but if you actually think about it. This could make pvp last longer than 30sec-2min per fight. you have to admit unless your in a large raid or battle, most times you run across overts your alone or in small group and the fight usually doesnt last long at all. Usually if your overt your buffed, armored and ready to fight. So...the whole fight come downs to whoever can do the most mind damage the fastest. i personally hope mind damage is taken out, or..as other peeps have said...stims will heal mind. i would like to see longer battles to see who has real skillz, i think it could be positive for swordsman because if they take out mind damage, i have a big feeling armor protections and stats will also change or at least have different guidelines in pvp. but this is just my 2cents

im not bothered much by mind nerf except in pVE as i tend to use my blademaster iin PVP more but they will still have to fix CM as they can wipe out about 30 peeps in 20 sec with one posion and that is runing PVP for me anyway as all the battles on my server get destroyed By cm throwing posions and every one ends up with no mind

the was a battle on farstar were CM were banned and it lasted for 2 hours

I am having more fun with my swordswoman in pve then i did my tkm..but in pvp I am really only playing the doc role anyway so it doesn't really affect me too much.

In PVP I am having fun, fought 3 TK masters so far and won 2 of the 3 fights, not bad. I'm master sword / master carbine / medic / scout. We are far better than TK in PVE, although them and fencers are probably easier to playin PVP. The key is to use good armor, sythesteak and Thakatillo, and of course 2 hits of the brandy. Also, try to land our dizzy and posture changes, as well as intimidate (very underused). Then focus the main damage on there mind in most cases.

This way your mind is buffed, and with good steak and armor you will negate most of there damage and they would have to be incredibly lucky to knock you down while on good thack.

I'm actually really impressed with swordsman in pvp, I thought about picking up master fencer for pvp, but now I don't think I will. Last night me and a guildie were farming faction in kaadara, and I get the system message saying he has died. So I run over and see 2 fencers and a commando (I was overt, so I didn't have to gtef ). At that time i was only a 1444 swordsman and a master brawler. I run over kd the commando, and start hitting in the head for 500+ damage, in a matter of seconds he's dead. I start fighting the fencers, however I never equipped my stun composite so they kd and beat on me for a minute until i die. I did almost kill one of them, but 2 fencers and being on fire will eventually kill you.

I think in a 1 on 1 duel between a fencer and a swordsman, a swordsman has very good chance at winning, especially if the other person is wearing a stun helmet.

1v1 it comes down to who is the better prepared player. I'm a master fencer, and soon to be master swordsman, and I can beat many people, mostly due to my equipment, and how I prepare for each opponent as the situation arrives.

Were kind of a joke in PvP now. Evreyones got 80%+ kinetic resists and near the same for blast (AP doesnt work right anyhow). Our bleeds were scary once... now theyre a waste of HAM. The only way to make sword viable in PvP is rounding it out with dableing..like TKA/riffleman or medic. We have no real status attacks (except a dizzy we cant ever rely on) and posture changes are a joke....the biggest joke in fact because we have 6 of them.

I like to PvP and i rely on my riffle more than sword thesedays.... shootem in the head then whunkem in the head with (insert weapon here) and riffles also have status attacks that ive been relying on alot as of late.

we cant do the damage we need with all this uber armor around.... ANY PvP person worth his salt is permabuffed and in a full suit of 80% composite. PvP is annoying to me now since evrey tom,**edit**, and harry has an 80% tincan on and 2500+ ham...not to mention muon and brandy witch makes our mind damage pathetic...

im thinking about playing city of heroes instead of waiting for this mythical revamp.
