Are the weapons that people are comparing their converted weapons to coming from the Blue Frog or are they crafted?

I ask this because the ones on the Blue Frog are supposed to be the maximum possible stats for that weapon type - so if your converted hammer is higher than that then it's still one of the best.
Also, who is to say that 'Best possible crafted' means crafted soley from resources, maybe that means with highest level loots like a +400 acklay bone and base crafted only makes a 50-400 hammer.

Maybe someone has more info and can put me straight on this.

I just read a post from TH and it indicates that the "top 5% of pre-conversion weapons will fall into a range that is 100% to 120% of the best crafted weapons" (see Stickied thread at top of "Weapons Conversion" subject dated April 20th 2005. I am not sure if this a final determination but that leads me to believe that "if your weapon is one of the most uber before the CU it wil be one of the most uber after" is a very relative statement. I guess we will just have to wait and se what happens.

This would be silly even by dev standards (and those are quite lenientstandards). What good is it to have testers test weapons that only an extremely small fraction of the player base will use? If you are preforming a test, you have your testers use what you think most people will have.

this is like a spit in the face from the devs to any veteran players who have put any money, time or effort into getting enhanced weapons. ill say good bye to my 330-922 hammer
