Thread: Quitting Swordsman for Creature Handler
Hey guys, My primary is a Master WS / Master Artisan, and if you can get me some Ancient Rancor Hide I can make you a shoe that will kill any Jedi you come across, problem is no one has the Cert for it ![]()
I'm getting CH tocomplement theswordsman skills, not replace them. The pets tank for me, while I do most of the damage. So far it's working good.
Master heavy swordsman (and 1-3-1-4 creature handler since the KD / posture change nerf)
You're still better off as a CH/Pistoleer or CH/Fencer, assuming you were planning on being something like a 4400 CH.
With a high level pet whacking on something for 500 damage per hit and mostly hitting health, you'd want a profession that can do special attacks against health. 2hhit attacks tend to hit health a lot, but actually have a health shot will make the fight go quicker.
By doing mindhits, you're not getting the full advantage your pet offers for helping kill stuff.
All that said, it looks like I may have to wait on my plan to drop swordsman. Hopefully some of these "combo" attacks will be multi-profession. Wouldn't it be cool to have a combo attack that allowed for rifle shots followed up by sword hits? That's what I do anyway, and it could make Rifleman + Swordsman a contender for the other templates (like Creature Handler + Anything).
i'm 0/3/1/1 swordsman going for master.... also 4/4/0/0 medic and 1/2/0/1 ch going for 3/3/0/3 ch
i'm done with medic as muchas i care for but i plan to at least master swordsman and get 3/3/0/3 on ch
ch and swordsman really do help each other ALOT along with having 4/4/0/0 on medic ![]()
I think you're smoking something. I'm not sure how many hit points these "regular rancors" have, but it takes me a good 30 seconds to kill a Picket on Dantooine, and they only have 10000 HAM. You're not hitting a rancor for 5000 damage with a powerhammer.
Burst run is only useful if you plan on getting in a fight once every 10 minutes. When I'm circling Anchorhead, I get in a fight about once per minute. You burst run and kill me, and 30 seconds later a novice marksman with a CDEF pistol kites you to death because you already used your burst run.
I can get a mob's head bleeding for 3-5k, and then start in on the head hits.Things die plenty quick.Or if the mob has less ham, I can take advantage of the pet's damageby just doing standard attacks with a hit2 or 3thrown in every so often. A pistoleer/ch or a fencer/ch could do the job quicker? Maybe...but I'll quit the game before I take up any profession that lacks AR2 weapons.
PVP will always be gimped for melee classes until the devs do something about us not being able to catchand hit a ranged player. If I was to rely on my swordsman skills only I would die every time against a knowledgable ranged player.
Things change quite a bit though when I send 2 Graul Maulers after them or 3 Grand Wrix (which can outrun burst run).
Swordsman skills are AWESOME in PVE though.
Why are people so obsessed with PVP anyhoo?
Blades - Master Swordsman, Master Creature Handler, Novice Rifleman, Novice Medic
do u mean one on one?? cause thats more believable. and u must not have seen ANY battles or EVER been part of a raid. never lost, lol, u wish. it doesnt matter how many gurrecks or grand wrixs or rancors u have out, if u walk into anchorhead or bestine u and ur pets r gonna get mauled.
o and u say "ive never gon to those towns overt, or i dont go into opposing faction towns."
so ur hunting ppl around the towns, and its like u and ur 2 or 3 pets fighting 1 person, lol, i hardly call that PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER.
