Thread: Lvl 80 Master Swords, TKA, Brawler 4444, Pikeman 0440.... feeling as weak as hell.

They're two levels higher than you...

They're stronger than you, so they killed you. Makes perfect sense to me.
I don't have to be bullet proof, but hell.... we've gone from one extreme to the far opposite extreeme.
Because you're still trying to take on things stronger than you and expect to come out on top so easily.
I've played in many different groups.... we all die, we all get incapped .... this is not fun... there is no great strategy i'm missing ... this is my Swg Hell.
Being parts of "different groups" add very little credibility to your argument. How large were these groups? Who did they consist of? What were you fighting?
If I'm in a group of pure Melee avatars (such as your example), and try and taken on a bunch of CL82s, it's obvious it's not going to be easy. They're stronger than you. Brawn isn't going to work quite so well. Use brains.
Using COB does reduce the damage yes... but when u get aggroeed by a pack... are are dead in seconds.
1 CL 80 Vs Multiple CL 82s. Of course. Get your party to draw the aggro and split it up then.

I cannot tank any lvl 80 anything for longer then 30seconds.
Did you have any healers? According to your party list above, it was a bunch of pure Melee'ers.
This is rediculous.. its no wonder, why i've seen hundreds quit this game already. Hard to even get a good group together when so many are leaving.
If you feel the same way, you can leave too, I don't think anyone's holding a gun to your head and making you play this. Don't enjoy it, don't play it.
This game is supposed to be fun.
And it is, for me. If it's not for you, why are you here?
Its no fun when everyone constantly dies... all lvl 80 master combat professions.

So apparently, if I go out there with a group of TKs, Fencers, and Swordsmen, and I get killed by Necrosis CL 92 because I can't tank something of a higher level, and because I don't have a versatile group, it's no fun? Rethink your strategy.
heres my template and it seems to work great
master swords
master pikeman
0-0-3-0 fencer
0-1-3-1 tera kasi
plus some fs melee speed

Simply stated you suck and dont know how to play in the CU,, (the nice version is give it time and learn dont just complain) , you are no longer in god mode and cant run in Rambo style to kill all the mobs
Im Master Swords//Pike//Brawler with a little medic and I can tank level 80 and 82 mobs no problem,,,, you have to tank one mob at a time not 3 or 4,,, you cant take that many because they are all equal or greater level and will outdamage you, if you take on to many,,,,
now if your group of 8 was really getting killed that easily on Naboo then your whole group doesnt know what to do,,,, either way you guys have a lot to learn,,, its tons of fun once you master it
I have to start by saying (might not be popular amongst ex SWG fans, but I think the ones that stayed and learned the new way of fighting in "no-god mode" like the challenge and like it better challanging than snoring) I LIKE the CU. Yeah it has flaws and bugs, but now when they are starting patching (I know I'm new, 3 months yesterday,and they are patching THE patch, rather pathetic, but I'm also patient). Im level 72 and as long as I do ONE at a time, I'm perfectly fine. I do only non-aggro but they are the same level or 2 levels above me.
When my gf is with me (she is doctor), we take missions for monsters 2-3 levels above us and we do it really fine, sometimes I can handle two atthe same time. Weshould be able to take on higher mobs, but we find no such missions at the terminals.As long as I takehigher ones ONE at a time I'm fine, which makes sense to me.
While I do think they need to balance the mobs strengths..to me you should be able to solo your own level or couple levels below you regardless. Groups should be needed for anything higher than 2 levels above you. That being said....I have been enjoying the changes...I didnt panic with drastic cu changes..kept an open mind...and I love it. I love the new loot even if some of it is disturbing lol (snake eye o.0) . I practiced first with new commands, timing etc somewhat on lower level mobs adjusting different attacks. I did do a macro for cob to remind me when to stop hitting so new application of cob would stick. Now seeing others with life back in game. Yes a lot needs twiking but slowly they are getting to it.
Myki is now mtka/mcm/novice scout and can handle pretty well solo
Sashalanda is now mswords/mtka/medic 0030/survey3 with business4 and does well too ![]()
both are level 80 and arent stuck in stuffy armor ![]()

I thought that was what you were saying. For the benefit of people that may not have been able to try for themselves, this is wrong.
You can't take more damage with a VK equipped than with a sword equipped (or with any other weapon, or no weapon equipped). The weapon you are holding does not affect your armour factor.
[I imagine the guy that keeps telling you this hasn't taken into account that his melee defence may be different with differing weapons. I would guess his Two-handed weapon melee defence mod is different to his Unarmed mod.]

SWG was pretty unique, had a unique system.. its not that unique anymore.
Alas, its not as fun as it used to be. Thats my point.
SWG never was a strategy game for me... was a hack and slash. I do all my thinking at work, don't want to have to think playing a game.
Enjoyed playing solo when i wanted to. Only things you can solo now are pitiful.

Its not as fun for you,,, for some may be fun, and your point you were trying to make was that it was IMPOSSIBLE to do anything and that is a lie out and out,,,

SWG is not a hack and slash, if it was for you prior to CU thats because you never did high end content,,, you may not of needed lots of thought but it had some elements to it,,, And you dont really have to think that hard to play the CU and have it work its not that tough,,,, Go play diablo if you like hack and slash

You can solo ANYTHING that is aroudn your level,,,, thing is YOU cant solo because you obviously have no idea how to play,,, Any mission you take from a terminal as long as yo dont Aggro the whole group you can do it solo it spawns like level 78-82 mobs for me,,, not that tough if you have any idea how to play

There's your problem. Your Innate armor goes away when you equip a non-unarmed weapon. Bring up your character sheet with ctrl C. see what happens to your offense/defense stats when you equip/unequip different weapons.
Stop bringing up the misconception that wielding non unarmed loses inate armor...... its NOT because you lose inate armor for why you're taking more damage, its because you don't have TK's Unarmed defenses
