Thread: What can Swordsman consistently solo? + Otehr Swordsman questions... THANKS!

AS a long time Nightsister/Krayt hunter... Let me tell you, Elders suck for loot.
Only elder worth your time is Axkyva only because she is the only one who drops
the energy lance schematic.
You need to kill Krayts only for pearls. But since there are very good DMG crystals
dropping from Protectors, Weavers, and the other Nightsisters why bother with the
Krayts. SOE has made killing "EPIC" monsters in this game pointless. There are no
minimum drops form these super hard to kill beasts, and 90 times out of 100 you
get rebel/inperial orders, credits, or a crappy Lance with a 40 str. health dot.
Trust me... Kill and elder as a bench mark then just ignore it, there pointless.
As for what a swordsmistress can kill ?? Anything except Stupid Battle Droids.
Although i have soloed one SBD but i had Dancer/Musician Buffs... Ahrisa/Brandy,
Synthsteak, and i am good enough in medic to use Stim B's. Took forever and was
not worth the Dmg done to my armor.

Wrong, you don't need Novice Medic against a Canyon, an Elder or Axkva.

Sorry, dont need it helps greatly for the unexpected...like that random spawn of another elder or 3 protectors. OR when fighting tht krayt that you get stuck in a spawn of dragonets. mainly there for the amount of time it will take. grnated speed capped you dont ever need medic. becuase you kill everything os darn quick. but again differant story.
and I said anciant not canyon....I soloed my first canyon while not yet master swordsman.

Thanks everyone for the great posts! Awesome info that will help a ton. Per my signature below, I had a lot to work with in changing up Jinook a bit (yes, great Dark-B - I should have listened!). I got from nada to Nov Sword in two hours and locked in Sword 0-1-1-3 in about an hour an half. The (3) came from a buttloadd of combat EP I had from just playing the game.
Giving up medic will feel weird, but I will still hae Feign Death. My template will be TK 4-3-0-0, Fencer 0-4-4-0, Master Sword, Pistoleer 0-0-4-0, Smuggler 0-0-2-0. On the pistols I will still enjoy Fan, Stopping, and Panic. My def mods way rock on this:
Def against: Dizzy +105, Knockdown +145, Stun +105, Blind +100, Posture Change +110, Dodge +100, Counterattack +100
Melee and ranged defenses are very weak, though. def against Intimidate is low (+40) Plus all my clothes are Bio and both my clothes and armor have tons of attachments.
One more question: Scythe of Power Hammer and why?

Soloed two Elders this morning. First one looted nothing, second looted a mercenary bandoleer with no mods. I won't be soloing any Elders for a while, but when my Master Rifleman buddy tags along, we can waste an Elder in about 5-6 minutes versus 20 minutes solo.
I agree with other posters saying that it's better to kill many Outcasts, Protectors, Spell Weavers and Sentinels versus just a few Elders. I will kill an elder if one appears and try to milk the spawn for more, but after spening 15+ hours killing NS this past week, Elders only drop good loot about 1/3 of the time.

It's strange..some days on Corbantis everything is dropping crystals and exceptional stuff. Next day, they drop head dresses and bandoleers. /shrug.

Like mentioned before you can solo just about anything you want as a master swordsman with a good combo profession. I am currently master swordsman/master pistoleer. I can solo krayts(up to ancients), Elders, etc.... I went out yesterday and killed about 12 elders in a single buff session. Hardest part is finding the buggers. They take a little while to kill, just use bleeds and then headhits. With swordsman/pistoleer I don't really worry about KD anymore, ancient krayts rarely knock me down anymore so I can just sit there and beat away on them.
As far as what to loot that's kinda up to you. The best items drop off of the highest mobs ancients/elders/etc... but they take a long time to kill and often drop useless crap. I hunt elders and krayts mainly at the moment because I am after the really high end loot. No point in getting 20 poor quality crystals as they are useless and often deleted. I would much rather have 1 premium crystal instead of those 20 poor or even good crystals.

pointless?!?!!? I should give this 50 dmg crystal back the the elder I got it from and ask that Tusken Observer if he'd like this Exceptional Rifle back then.

As a master brawler/tkm/Master swordsman I solo'd 4 night sister protectors, two spell weavers, 2 sentinels and one elder... all at once.

Using just Sword skills I solo'd 2 Elder today.
They aren't that difficult, Drink 2 Brandies, get buffed, have Kinetic Ubese or comp equipped, switch on the COB Macro (this is very important), and keep her Intimidated. HH3 with a Power Hammer until she's dead.
Using the above tactics I never lose more than a quarter of my HAM on each bar, if you do get into trouble however always bring some stims B's and Muon with you.
Tbh though, Elders are the worst for loot and aren't worth the 30 minutes of hacking away at them. The two I killed today dropped 2k cradits and 4 crap armor shards.

I've never even seen a Gorax.
Wouldn't bother with a Super Battle Droid unless it was inside the DWB.
