Thread: can swords compete anymore? (PVP wise)

Try this build.


MSwords

4xx4 Doc

x4x4 Fencer

x3xx TKA


With buffs you have 150 speed with a PH

You can heal yourself for over 750 with shot and a 200ish pt per tick bacta infuse and about 550-600 with jab.

With x3xx tka you have a pretty good KD and improved cob (+500 defense)

x4x4 gives you an amazing snare and action regen debuff.


Use blob candy/bofa treats/spiced tea

booster blue and parwan nutricake for runners/ranged.

Keep ruby bliel and the +210 melee accuracy drink on you. (Only use the drink if you absolutley need to it lasts for 52s, but while kd'd you can do a TON of dmg very quickly with this on)


Keep stims for emergencies and backup (mine are 1145 effectiveness 32 uses and I maybe use 1 a fight if that)


Get either 6k/6k battle armor or 6450/6450 if you have the cash for it.

And get a PH with over 1100 max dmg (speed is irrelevant for the most part)

And get yourself some 30-33% melee dmg pups.


With that build I have never lost a fight 1v1 yet. And 2v1 I have about an 80% chance to come out on top.

Keep CoB on a 25s paused macro and you're all set.

The only thing about that is you can pick up another tree of tka, but nothing really helps you. with improved cob your defenses are effectively capped (highest accuracy a player could have is 580ish with fs+ food etc) So anything over 100ish normal defense and you're doing fine. Not to mention nothing sucks more than losing your buffs in the middle of a fight.

tkm/msword/4xxx doc + a speeed buff as a tk and im hittin 2 times a second at 700 in pvp

yes I did some with my other toon over 6 months ago. I meant that I am not a noob. I'm new to pvp, espescially under the CU's new format.

I'm M.Doc, M.Swords and Brawler 0444 (the last 4 is to get the knockdown from pikes) and I can plow through a master power easily. I get whopped by master defender because they have so many defenses and armor, that the damage i make is greatly reduced and my action runs off way too quickly, even with food. Plus, healing drains the mind pretty fast, so when you're out of action and out of mind, you're dead.

I'm all for full melee because I love it, but what the hell do you do to prevent being kited and/or stopping them long enough to get in melee range????


Yes, you will last all day due to defenses, armor and healing, but if you can't kill them either, what's the point?


Am I missing something?

By using better tactics.. plus root shots can't simply be spammed all day.. thank god. Besides that we don't need to be in melee range long against most ranged players. A well placed burstrun usually proves useful in this regard.


Furthermore, ranged players can't shoot THROUGH stuff. Use terrain to your advantage, and try to keep them in enclosed areas when possible.

I was duelling guild members last night on our guild hall roof.


My temp at the moment is: Master Swords/Fencer 0400/Master Doc.


I duelled 6 jedis, won 4, lost 1 and draw 1.


They were actually very surprised and shocked over how well the temp did.


I was using my unsliced 1107 PH with a Action PUP (85 SAC).


The one i lost, was a nice move by him, since he put states on me, and just before i healed at around 60% health, he did a KD on me, and due to the states i couldnt get up and heal, so i got incapped.


I beat a master power, who just couldnt keep up with the healing. The 2 otherlost all their force and the last one were not a lvl 80 jedi, so he went down in 5 secs, cause he just couldnt heal in time.


Now i want to ditch my fencer part since i only had it since i started using the 1h Kashyyk weapons. But im not sure what to pick.


I would like some more states options, and maybe debuf specials or intimidate, but sunno yet. Dont think ill drop master Doc, allthough many seems to like the 4000 or 4004 combos.


So master swords with doc is pretty good.
