A decent swords/doccan give a jedi a hard time right now, after the doc boost I imagine swords with doc will be quite potent.

I'm Master Pikeman, Master Swordsman, 4130 TKA with some FS. One on one I can stand up to most Jedi templates very well, and some I can beat pretty badly. The classic Master Lightsaber/Master Defender template tends to beat me pretty regularly though.

did pvp for the first time the other day and i was in RO on rori, I flipped and was setting up my foods and a jedi knight attacked me from out of nowhere. Well a few hits later he was begging to see my hammer. 1399 with pup. I wear fully adk'd RIS with +25 aa's on it. Uber foods and my uber 33% damage 12% speed pups. Hammer is 1210 w/o pup. I can kill almost every one on one jedi i fight except master defender who knows what they are doing. I received much praise from enemy jedi for holding my own as long as i do.

You also better know SQL pretty well and have an oracle database and a ton of other important stuff. SWGEmu is nothing more then a UI mod. Now if some genius ever pulled it off... well that would be another matter entirely. You seariously don't think we're worried about this do you?"

Now that they fixed Doc/CM to heal faster, and took away our ability to knock down, can we compete with the ranged fanboys and now jedi?

jedi are looking to be on the same level as the ranged docs now, where does that leave us?? my current temp is master TK/swords, with some fencer and some medic (pretty standard melee template i think) but unless i have all the jedi in my group healing me, even now, PVP is difficult...since jedi healing costs are going up, i'm lookin to get healed alot less.

so the question i'm asking, is what my fellow swords think is gonna happen to us? are we even needed, PVP wise? rifles does the same damage as us now, and can snare/root while kiting...imo i dont think melee is even worth playing anymore...

but damned if i wont quit before i go ranged...anyways...thoughts?

I am more concerned about ranged then Jedi. Jedi have been getting nerfed to the point that unless you are master defender, you really are not that powerful. They are kind of on the same boat as us, since most of Jedi are a melee class. Ranged professions have been gaining enormous advantages after CU.. .BH/CM/RIFLE combos will get stupid now with CM getting a boost. They can kite, root ,knockdown deal a lot of dmg, heal better then docs, and paralyze you when they need to take a break.

Yes, one melee profession going against another isn't the problem, it is the ranged people. Range + CM is a very hard to beat combo, no matter how big your powerhammer or force bar is.
