you got to be serious? what a f'ing stupid response. so now im supposed to read every f'ing post in every forum and all the information i can so i may be prepared for all possible occurances. i dont f'ing have time to prepare myself for a game. i expect if i see something that says i will get X-mod then i will get the modification. i have been playing this game for 6 months and no i havn't heard about the problem. why the hell they would put multiple mods on something they know will not work and possibly lead to this type of situation absolutelly makes no sense. this is a game i play for entertainment and relaxation...not to get pissed off and frustrated with.
Well I agree, its very irritating that issues like this are/have been allowed to remain for so long. That said, its not like the threads containing this information are HIDDEN by any means. People talk about them all the time. I just read the forums very casually while I'm supposedly "at work" (snicker..), and I happen across someone mentioning/asking about it nearly every time. Furthermore, you paid HOW MUCH without checking first by simply asking?!
Anyway, there are some rather controversial and sketchy ways to get the lower mod to stick sometimes. I personally am not 100% sure how it works but it has something to do with adding in a negative mod that corresponds to the higher one on the tape you got. For instance using this method you COULD possibly use a -3 Clothing Experimentation alongside one of them to get the speed to stick instead. I've heard that this works AND doesn't work. Hopefully someone else can comment on it.

No, the negatives dont work (anymore). Now to cancel something out, in the piece of clothing (or armor), you need to have the same mod or higher of what it is you need to cancel out. For Example:
Clothing Attachment:
+3 Thrown Weapon Accuracy/+3 Weapon Experimentation. (reason i chose this is because it is either the one w/ highest value that will stick, or the first listed if same value)
To get the Weapon Experimentation to stick, you will have to find a +3 or higherThrown Weapon Accuracy CA and put it in a piece of clothing first THEN put in the one w/ the exp.
EDIT:Also, I dont think it is a bug... I think it is supposed to be that way. There is no way that if say someone had 4 CA's, each with 3 mods, could put them in a 4 socket shirt and wind up with a 12 mod shirt.

Again, it's ok that you didn't know. I feel bad you lost so much money though
As for the anyone who flames you, ignore them. They don't know everything about the game so they're opinions don't really matter.
Good Luck to you Breece

Hi Breece. Don't worry about not knowing about the skill tapes not stacking. I know a few people who don't. As a master tailor I frequently get questions about them. If you want to, go to the tailor board and read the FAQ there. There is a guide called Padrebook's Guide to Skill Tapes. Just find the link (not too far down in the FAQ). You'll also see the known issues we have with clothes. Such as sockets on packs don't accept tapes.
Again, it's ok that you didn't know. I feel bad you lost so much money thoughRead the tailor FAQ parts that matter to you and hopefully nothing like that will happen again to you. I'm glad you posted because there's a chance you helped a new person out by doing this.

Thank you Kitachiira i appreciate what you said and thanks to the rest of you for the help. I was taken by surprise. iv'e played for 10 months and didn't realize thats how the ca's worked. i knew there were some that didn't work...iv'e read most of that post but missed the ones regarding stacking. no worries....i guess it's a live and learn situation. just very frustrating.
thisreally wasn't meant to be a b'tching post. I really wanted to find out what was going on and possibly as you mentioned prevent someone else from making the same mistake. as for the flamming.....no worries. kids will be kids.

I know what you mean about CSRs. They've ticked me off on more than one occassion. That's why I try to help as much as I can. People learn from others experiences. With most CSRs being useless, we all should be helpful to each other. So I appreciate it when people post things like that.
I hope next time it goes better for you.
well to be honest i owe the csr a bit of an appology. he/she did a pretty decent job of explaining when i went back and read the response i got back.
