Yes, we suck against TKAs. I have duel many TKMs and never even come close to winning. The only way I usually kill TKAs is to poison, Center of Being, and run. Might sound cowardly but it gets the job done

Swordsman is I guess a...lesser choice for PvP because of the reasons you've stated:

We have lower defenses, and our best weapon generally has bad accuracy, especially vs. Flavor of the Month characters.

We do damage, and are generally the ones you want to beat on tough ranged persons, despite them all having better melee defense than us.

Being really good at PvP takes time and practice...I still suck at it for now, but when the combat rebalance happens..watch out!

I win 95% of my duels against TKM's. My build is Master Swordsman, Master Brawler, 4400 Fencer, 0020 Pikeman, 4304 TKA, novice medic. But not done yet so now only Master Swords, master brawler, 0400 fencer, 0000 pikeman, 4304 TKA and 0040 medic. I have 95KD resist atm (105 once done tomorrow or on friday) and I can't be knocked down very easily. Takes a few tries atleast. In that time you can lunge 2 the TKM, warcry 2 him, intimidate, put 1 or 2 bleeds on him and start bashing. Most of the time they panic and start running and notice their mistake once the bleed kicks in. Or else, they stand there looking dumb and getting hit in the headover and over. I use a layered composite with 80% kinetic resist and fight buffed and well-prepared so that is of course two reasons. Can hardly wait till I insert my speedtapes... TKA's shall suffer.. *mad evil laughter* I hope I helped a little. This is a great template as it is, but will be nerfed shortly as it looks right now.

Why is it everytime someone says how they when in pvp, its cuz of using master brawler stuff? How do you win in PvP as a Swordsman not a Swordsmand/Master Brawler

This is what you have to look forward to in PvP. I had to split it into two screenshots because the time period was so long.

Okin_Sin, it's because master brawler is quite essential if you plan on being effective in PVP as a swordsman. We got no original knockdown and we need to delay our targets for quite some time.
I'm not saying you can't PVP without it, I'm just saying that it's A LOT harder and not half as fun.

Harder? talk about nearly impossible without Master Brawler. Everyone time i have fought a TKA one on one...first hit is kd/dizzy and fight is over....buffed or not i cant get back up....Definitely making me want to drop swordsman and go back to a profession that had a chance against TKA....any other profession though i have no problem with on sword

TKA's are fun to kill, hit them with the bleed first. when they're trying to kill you after the KD/dizzy they don't seem to notice that they are bleeding from their ears. after you stand up almost any attack will incap them.

problem is that bleeds are going to be affected by resists now, i have 80%+ armor. swordsman bleeds will hit me for about 80 damage after the patch. i always go PvPing with dancer buffs so i have 2200 mind, 80 damage is nothing then.

Master Swordsman, Master Brawler, Doc 0430 (or 4200 maybe - let you cure disease and poison and still buff yourself to a lesser degree) - the doc gives you the /healstate command with which you can remove dizzy states, and if you just spam a /stand;/healstate self dizzy command you can usually be back on your feet in a couple of tries - annoys the crap out of TKA's that does, KD/Dizzy and you're back upright in less than a second mauling them .

god y'all are crap in pvp

the way to defeat any tkm.

wear composite armor with 80% resists

its freaking hilarious how powerful 2h can be in pvp with a armor.

All you need is 15 seconds to wait for a bleed to start or around there

The armor keep you alive a whole lot longer than that.

Oh and whoever whines about tka's kd/dizzyi hope to god you are checking out the carbineer's kd

there is no timer, and if you take buffs and some food and spices, you have no hams costs.

Its not fun standing up from a kd and then being kded again.

For all of you bitching about TKA's KD/dizzy, you do realize that other classes have a KD/dizzies also right? Heck, alot of classes can KD and dizzy, just not in the same move.(which really doesn't make it much worse). The KD/dizzy combo is not the end all to a fight, so stop **edit** about TKAs having KD/dizzy unless you're willing to **edit** about the other classes that can do the same thing.

I think the carbineers knockdown is broken though, it doesn't have a timer true, but their area KD doesn't work, so I'm pretty sure it will get a timer when the class gets fixed.

It's true other classes do have a KD, but TKAs are so bloody common now they draw the bulk of the blame.
