I'll tell ya both sides have strong arguements and this may not belong in the 2h side of it ,but to say that a person that is skilled in fenceing is to be able to DW bwahahaha you are the ones who are strongly mistakein. In theory a fencer would have a shield maybe and a barbarian (2h type ) would either use 2 weapons or one large 2 smaller weapons in each hand .Please look at the way things work before flameing people.I also notice that half of the people who said no have fencer in there signature and do not belong here any ways so to them i say go home and talk to your COR. Gorecki is ours lol!

PS good job bro keep up the good work

Lemmonhed:

You have ignorede the fact about "HEAVY" Swordsmen. Does the word HEAVY Swordsman imply to you, that our weapons are so light that using two at once would be useful? If it does, I think you have seriously misunderstood the entire thing about us. We're not swordsmen, not expert swordsmen, but HEAVY swordsmen, we use the big and heavy **edit** of melee weapons, thats why ALL our weapons are, and should always be 2-handed, one doesn't wield HEAVY melee weapons with one hand does one?. Thus suddenly being able to weild two 2-handed swords at once, would not be for our profession and ridiculues.. I still dont understand why this was introdused as an option to us in the first place.. idiotic.

And I AM a Heavy Swordsman.

Most of you who have said yes, have only included the rason "TKA AND OTHERS GET ALL THE GOODIES; WE WANTS THEMTOOOO!!!! - Precious yess, precious - " or something like that.. Grow up.

Yes, and I don't know if this has been brought up, but to 'dual-wield' swordsmen could use one-handed swords in each hand. Can't really see using two two-handed swords, and this would clear up the problem... and create new ones such as fencers complaining that we get to use their weapons better than they can yadda yadda, but still... yes.

id have to say i would leave this proffession if it were allowed dual-wielding.

HEAVY swordsman should not have ability to carry 2 swords. I realize all the atatcks and such say "2hand<attack>" but that means double-handed weapon and double-handed means it requires both hands.

pistoleer's and fencers are the only 2 proffs that should be able to dual wield......maybe bounty hunters too.

Yes but not in the sense of using 2 of any of our current weapons together. I would rather have a new weapon(s) that when equipped LOOKS like 2 weapons, hence 2 handed, but is balanced against everything else we have. In truth its not real DW its more like a cosmetic thing but its a cosmetic idea that gives us a new weapon and not only that can be given to fencers aswell in the form of maybe a rapier/dagger combo weapon. Ours could be something liketwo hand axes, one for each hand or something.

edit: should say not only that, but it can be given to fencers aswell.

Finally someone else who understand the point of the "HEAVY" part of our profession..

And tsunami or whatever, a two-handed sword, with one hand?? Anyone should be able to the the illogic in that..

Devs should make all our weapons look bigger, so that the people judging from the graphical size of our weapons could understand that "oh my.. That sword can't be wielded with one arm......

I'm not sure if it's the fault of the devs, or merely some miscommunication somewhere, but there seem to be a *LOT* of people that confuse Swordsmen with Fencers. So... lemme spell it out for those of us that don't yet realise.

Fencers:

- Should get dual wield

- Wield low to med damage, fast to med speed one handed weapons.

- Primarily rely on dodge for defense, because their lighter weapons cannot easily block heavier weapons, but due allow for greater mobility due to their lack of weight.

Swordsmen:

- Should NOT get dual wield, because all of their weapons require two hands. Just to say it again, unless the devs allow you to play Dex from AotC, or Goro from Mortal Combat, there is absolutely no way we can wield our TWO HANDED WEAPONS with ONE HAND, much less TWO TWO HANDED WEAPONS at the same time.

- Wield med to high damage, med to slow speed TWO HANDED WEAPONS.

- Primarily relies on counter attacks for defense, because the weapons are too heavy to effectively dodge with, and counter attacks suit this offense oriented profession far better than blocks or parries.

If you are still confused between the two, go watch The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise, and pay attention to how he and Kasimoto fight. Note how, rather than dodging attacks, they move fluidly from one swing to the next and use their opponent's own attacks to throw them off balance. Also note that only one time in the entire movie does Tom Cruise dual wield, and neither of the weapons he is using at the time are dedicated two handed swords... they're both more of a hand and a half sword (like the japanese equivalent to a medieval **edit** sword).

Yes it does... "Heavy Swordsman" you know..HEAVY, HEAVY, HEAVY. HEAVY 2-handed Swordsmen. It must be two handson one sword as long as we are heavy. Why don't you all just change to fencer and then the devs can give THEM the dual wield, and not ruin the whole point of our profession..
