Tried this and got the waypoint from the treasure map just south of Anchorhead. Went to wp and says @Not close enough to pinpoint the treasure location. Went up to Krayt graveyard and it says the same.
Any ideas?

You cannot use Ackley bones, the scythe takes GENOSIAN sword cores, ackleys only replace sword cores...which in a way is funny......as the Ackley is at the bottom of the Gen. cave !

This is partially correct. The reason you can't use acklay bones is because they replace reinforcement cores, not sword cores. The fact that a scythe needs specifically a geonosian core is is insignificant. Acklay bones are used in blunt weapons, in general.

If you get someone to throw up a camp then the rock will disapear and you can get the the treasure chest. This happened to me once were a treasure chest dropped in a tree. With out an axe it was my quickest solution.

The thing about getting the scythe blade schematic is just like the Valarians quests/missions.
You need to have done one branch in an advanced prof (must be a combat prof) so in your case when you equipped your pistol (and is/was pistoleer 0-1-4-3) you met the requirements.

I went to start the mission, I have never done it before and the guy tells me that I have allready recieved my reward. All the npcs in that area tell me the same thing. Has anyone else ever had this problem or am I it. I do not recall ever doing it, and certainly dont have a schematic for the scythe. However, I did quit the game for about 8 months and had 2 houses deteriorate to nothingness. Surely I would remember having to fight a Krayt considering I have never even fired upon one by myself.
Anyways I was just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem.
Thanks

is it possible to make a scythe with more then 450 dmg or over 500 max dmg. if so what resources or enhancments needed. im not worried about price it will cost. i seen scythe with 506 max dmg what does it take to make that high dmg and it was spd sliced btw so wasnt a slice that made it over 500dmg!

When I did this quest, right beforeI did the final "search area" for the treasure, I had my swoop next to me and I did the search, mounted, then rode away a little bit just enough tosee my box, and a krayt spawn. What I did was ride around the area luring the krayt away from the box then I went back, snatched the goods inside, and left. When I did this quest there was 2 cdef pistols, a belt, the schematic, and a band (plain gold ring) inside the chest. I'm probably going to do this quest again, but next time I'll bring some friends and just finish the big beast off.
