Thread: Screw all this bleed crap. Swordmen Profession needs a damn REVAMP

Ok i know i probly do not speak for every swordsmen here but i feel i must give my personal opinion. Even before the patch i felt that there was something wrong with this profession. I am currently a 3/4/4/3 swordsmen and cannot take on faction missions with out suffering mass amounts of damage because of ham cost and enemy fire. I am a tka 2/1/1/0 and i can take on faction missions alot easier. hits are faster and power is pretty good, especially with knucklers. Mind you i am wearing a Full suit of 53% comp armor.
Now on with PVP, i dont really thik i have to say anything about this because after a Knockdown and dizzy move we cannot get up, after a blind move we will Never hit our target again. I went up against a tka and pistoleer, the pistoleer spamed a blind shot while i was spaming mind hit on the meele class( i personally avoid and gun vs meele fight cause its pointless) and when i died, i looked at the combat channel, and to my surprise i DID NOT hit that guy once! Also wearing a full suit of 53% comp armor.
Now on to our attacks. (sigh* good lord our attacks) Now this may seem stupid to some people, but WHY.....WHY IN THEEE HELL DO WE HAVE 6 ATTACKS THAT DO THE EXACT>>>>SAME>>>>THING! If that aint bad enough 85% of the time it does not work!I do not need six different attacks to change my targets posture, what the hell for? Did the Dev run outta ideasfor attack effects?!!?? Even when we had mind bleeds, sure i will admit they were our best move but the damn tick starts after 20 seconds, by that time either we or the enemy is long dead. I hate the fact i have to bleed a strong opponet RUN, and wait for the bleed to take the mind bar down by half. Good lord man have you ever tried that on a Night Sister Spell weaver....trust me its a long facking time. And for what? to wait 20 for a 69-300dmg every 20 seconds?? i can regenerate that back in less time. If we have on full suits of armor we start off at half the stats we should have which kills our regeneration. Unless you got a doc friend that can buff u all the time your screwed if u where full suits of armor.
Now on with our other faults. Ok if im standing next to a turtor and i swing to hit this 60foot tall sob, how and why in THEE hell do i have -30-50 accuracy? There is no way in hell a swordsmen can be so inaccurate. What good is a bleed if you cant hit the damn enemy? Come on lets be reasonable would a real life swordsmen miss such a large target? I think not. All of these is why i think we need a revamp of some kind.
Here is what i propose.First off, i say we drop all this change posture attack BS. Nobody whats a tamplete that is full with attacks that do the same damn thing. Change it up a bit, we are swordsmen for pete's sake give us a bleed, stun, dizzy, knockdown,blind, good lord something man! The only special thing about swordsmen is that we are the only class that has so many poster changing attacks, wether they hit or not is a totally different rant. Our defense definantly need to be looked at also, and armor less swordsmen is a dead swordsmen. We are forced to wear an armor that halfs our secondary stats thus helping the enemy kick our butts.
Weapons, i think we need afew different variations of these. I could sworn we where called swordsmen. why do i see hammers and axes?? We where promised a scythe,...so...um WHERE THE HELL IS IT? Speaking of weapons im not sure, but i think our profession has the highest ham cost.Why is that? I dont even use specils anymore. i have better luck letting the auto attack do its thing, which is downright boring. If we are gonna have high ham cost then give us moves that are worth it.I just dont understand it this profession is becoming less with every patch, this isnt even a suporting profession anymore. I want all of my fellow swordsmen to add there ideas to this post, about anything and everything u feel will help even out this insult to us.

So why don't you try customizing your character a little better. Currently, no profession can really stand alone without having some kind of drawback. Get over it and play smarter instead of whining all the time.

I really hope your a swordsmen too, my character is mixed with tka, and marksmen so dont tell my about customize. If you dont have any ideas to improve swordsmen then get quiet thnx.

i agree we should get a revamp ... but im SOOOOO CLOSE TO BECOMING A JEDI kinda only on my silent for the past like day and a half.

I had master Swordsman on my alt before I deleted him cause I wanted a tiny little Bothan with a butter knife to hack at people's knees with. Do you have master brawler? It gives you a 20m KD which will make any faction mob aside from a AT ST 2 to 3 hitable easily. You need a KD, find it, get it and enjoy life. I enjoyed 2 handed swords while i had it, lots of fun and at the end I didnt use the bleeds much unless it was Nightsister Elders and such. I would kill most things by the time the first bleed would hit so it was kinda useless.

My biggest gripe with swordsman is the constant kiting(Read: Running in a straight line as fast as they can)the rebel troopers do when i'm doing faction missions. Yeah i know its a Melee prof and they can move etc but dashing over 100 meters with me running behind is stupid.
I'd like to see a disable strike or something that stops them moving for 10 seconds etc insted of letting them run away then walk back slowly shooting you.

I thought warcry didn't stop them from running? I thought it just stopped their attacks.

Correct. Warcry will stop them attacking you for the duration. It'll also stop (mobs, at least) from standing up for the duration after you've knocked them over, or after someone has knocked them down for you.
Even Warcry2 isn't very reliable, though.

I agree with you but the problem is bleeds have cut our power a lot and the revamp is not going to be for quite a while so we've been cut in power until then. I never used bleeds to exploit I put them on mobs at the start of combat and then went toe to toe with them. I can still go toe to toe with creatures but I've lost about 50% of my damage output now.
