Thread: Help! What is the slowest weap we can use at Master and hit the speed cap of 1 sec?
So why do I see posts saying if we get to 95 or so Two-Handed speed with tapes we hit the speed cap WITH specials on a 5.4 Hammer? Is this not true?
What speed would you need to have to use Headhit3 witha 5.4 hammer and hit once every second? Is it even possible? I keep seeing "if you have 95 speed you cap at one sec with all specials on a 5.4 weap".
Thank you for any help here.
Delay on headhit3 is 2.5. Master speed is 75 for swords.
$speed = ($S * $D) * ((100 - $P)/100.0)
speed: the actual rate between attacks, in seconds. caps at 1.0
S: the speed rating of the weapon you are using
D: the delay modifier of the special attack you are using. This is speed multiplier for how long you have to wait in between attacks.
P: Your character personal weapon speed modifier. For example, a +30 rifle speed modifier.
ok i'm 1-0-1-1 in swordsman with a 3.6 hammer how many +1 speed tapes would i need to get to 1 swing a second?
To determine the personal speed mod needed to reach the speed cap for a given weapon/special:
personalspeedmod = 100 - ((1 / (weaponspeed [* specialdelay])) / .01)
According to a recent thread, the slowest special we have is Hit3 at 3.25x. So for a typical powerhammer at 5.4 speed. You can substitute in those numbers and get:
personalspeedmod = 100 - ((1 / (5.4 * 3.25)) / .01) = 100 - 5.7 = 94.3
So you would need a speed of 95 to hit the cap with our slowest special. A speed of 94 would get you very close to it. Previous information listed our slowest speical at 2.5, which would have required a speed of 93.
Likewise, to determine the weapons speed needed to cap, you can use the following formula:
weaponspeed = 1 / ([specialdelay *] ((100 - personalspeedmod) * .01))
So, substituting the numbers for a Master Swordsman (personal speed mod of 75):
weaponspeed = 1 / (3.25 * ((100 - 75) * .01)) = 1 / .8125 = 1.23
So a Master Swordsman needs a weapon with a speed of 1.23 to cap with out slowest special. Again, this presumes the most recent tests are correct that our slowest special is 3.25x, not 2.5x as was previously believed. If the latter were true, a Master could cap with any special with a weapon speed of 1.6.
Since a typical Powerhammer has a speed of 5.4, the fastest you could make that hammer is 3 seconds. That is: 5.4 speed hammer with a 35% speed slice and a 33% speed powerup = (5.4 / 1.35) / 1.33 = 3. That speed hammer would fire a 3.25x special at 2.4 seconds per hit.

Soory to ask.
But I have 85 in speed now, whats the speed on powerhammer I need to cap please
Look at my previous post for how to figure this out, but at 85, you would need a weapon with a 2.1 speed to cap. This is easily possible with a Scythe or some of our other weapons, but a typical5.4 speed powerhammer with a 35% speed slice and a 33% speed powerup (both the most you can get) will only take the speed to 3.0 seconds, so unless you had the hammer built for reduced speed, at this personal speed mod, you will not cap with a powerhammer for all of our specials. However, you can cap with a 3.0 hammer and a personal speed mod of 85 with any special with a 2.2 delay or less. Since most of the other specials are in the 2.3 to 2.6 range, you are getting within the ball park. With a personal speed mod of 87, you could cap with a 3.0 hammer with any special other than Hit3.

Too many.
Unfortuantely, he is right. Right now you have a personal speed mod of +35. The best you could hope for with just speed tapes is +25 more, or +60. Your slowest specials at this point are about 2.3 seconds. Put all that together and you will find that you need a speed mod of 88 to speed cap with that hammer with a 2.3 dealy special. So there is no way you will hit the cap no matter how many tapes you have. Sorry.
A lot of the cap calculations here have been for 2handhit3, the master attack.
If you're after hitting the cap, I'd recommend going for the cap on headhit3 instead, as its a faster attack, concentrates on one pool only, and does excellent damage too.
Master Swordsman: headhit3 speed cap with a speed 1.6 weapon (can get 2-hand curved swords to this with a very nice slice).
Master Brawler+Master Swords: headhit3 speed cap with a speed 2.0 weapon.
Speed skill is a direct % off the time. So Speed +75 (master) means you swing the weapon at 25% of its quoted speed, when not using specials. Then multiply by the special's modifier (2.5x for headhit3) to see what you swing at.
