From what i seen today loooking at the swordsman profession i'll keep master swordsman.

seems like there will be more defense at least.

The ablity to break states

And still one of the most hard-hitting professions

Since no elite professions where on TC tonight, my decision isn't final but so far it i've decided to keep it,

Anyone else agree?

no they put frogs down.. but just for weapons and mounts/swoops.. they want everyone to test what it's like being a noob.. and i can tell ya.. you can still solo grind your proff.. but take the time it takes now as a noob.. and multiply that by 10x to gain a level.

some of the most basic weapons now have been re-certed so they are attainable at only the higher levels.

yellow con mobs hit you for 200 damage per hit while solo.. while you hit them at a blistering 30 damage per hit. however you get a damage reduction while in a group. so that same mob might only be hitting you for 60 damage.. but you'll get much much less xp for killing it even if it is the same level as you while in the group.

the new any one can use stims have a 1 minute cooldown.

as others have said. No COB. No Beserk (is actually a high lvl swordsman move now). no counterattack.

no way of telling that your in combat except for the combat music or getting your butt kicked.

armor is not useable as far as i can tell until you get an elite profession.

Frog hammers and scythes seem to be higher in damage. but remember frog weapons were almost always reasonably high in damage and speed. well not compared to ones made with enhancing componets.

as far as i can tell there is no way to see what lvl setting your weapon is on, and some weapons like the sith sword didnt have a cert in any of the skill boxes.

the new icons arehorrid.. nauseating... and just plain ooglay. i don't see what was wrong with the old ones.

Combat itself was the worst. solo it was etheir easy, or impossible. seperating the two was just one or two lvls. group combat was much easier. but the penalty for that was less xp. go after a higher mob for higher xp and death followed everytime.

my conclusions after testing tonight still stands.. that theyre just making combat harder, and grouping a requirement without giving any incentive other than not dying. still not worth it.

-No COB-

did any of you even read the skill boxes? all the melee proffs get CoB, just not at novice brawler.

seems like the moves have been dumbed down too, with names such as power hit, armor break, stun recovery, KD recovery.....

I'm gonna be upset if the animations change too... such as my favorite tow hand area hit 1

i remember when the "snappy" movements came out a while ago..people did n't like it so it was changed back.

I hope thats an option for the CU once it reaches live

No offense ladies and germs but the more you compare the old system to the new, the more frustrated you will become. It is human nature to fear change (stress is defined as any form of change, positive or negative). Purge your mind of the old system, padawan, and give the new system a chance. Heck its been up twelve hours now? We are getting a new game here, pure and simple.

And so far I'm having a blast as a swordsman. I love the fact that after stupidly attacking a purple connec npc i ducked into a ravine, he lost line of sight, and I escaped.

Well i'm sorry, but i for one despise change, i don't want a new game, i don't want to learn swordsman all over again, but we are goin to be forced to, in my opinion this bites. it took me since the game started to now to get used to playing my char the way i want to play it, i like things the way they are. but unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it, so i'm most likely going to cancel my account, or just keep the game as a flight sim. I don't think this is right, and i don't think this is fair. I also beleive in the underlying "corporate"reason for the combat change, but i won't say it because i don't want my post deleted.

the game is just going in a direction i do not wish to go, especially with Jedi.

my 2 cents

- I support the proper use of common sense when it comes to re-developing games which are nearly two years into their tenure...evidently this sentiment is not shared by those that finance this game.

Here's a question ...when the CU goes live..are we all going to have to start over? Or, if you're master swords now, will you be master swords after the CU?
