Thread: Is an Acklay Powerhammer the Weapon of Choice for Masters?

I am about to attain master, and was wondering if this was the normal 'uber' weapon for Swordsmen...

From a price/performance perspective, I believe you'd be better off investing your money in speed tapes and using regular PH's w/ a good dmg slice (not hard to get one w/ 610+ dmg). If you've got the speed tapes already, though, yeah acklay hammers are it I think.

Also as a Swordsman nearing Master, I just want to clarify. So folks seem to prefer the power hammers over the scythes because the damage type, correct ? If some experienced Master Swordsman could post their best hammer (whether its Acklay or not) and scythe.....it would be a great compare.

i use scythe unless a target has way less blast resistance than kinetic.
i dont have my exact stats right now, but the damage per second on my decent hammer was like 85-90 while my scythes are like 124 and 134 i think. this is mainly because of the huge damage spread on hammers.
i'd rather hit 2-2.5k than 700-4k (and a lot faster too)

if your camping, just use a couple of sliced grinding hammers

For camping the merc room in the geno bunker I just use a speed sliced hammer. I'm not capped yet, actually I have no speed mods at all.

Hubo, not sure what the slice was on my hammer since I bought it off vendor but here are the stats-- (non acklay)
speed 5.3
damage 180-638 (no powerup)

no i dont use and Acklay power hammer as it cammped all day , i use a 180-660 dam sliced PH instead and am capped in speed

find some tapes so u can cap with a ph (max ph speed is 6 i think) but cap that, and also get a scythe, they are super super helpful, easy to get a schem for it also. i use my scythe to DOMINATE kinetic vuln stuff, great great thing to have in yer arsenal.

ive gotten one pistol accuracy +4 tape off of some high lvl tusken guy.....thats it lol

once you cap in speed it doesnt make a whole lot of difference what damage your hammer is, as long as its above 550

I'm @ +80 swordsman speed and I still use my 3.7 142-467 PH, the high damage PH's don't really matter to me but I do have a 5.3 180-631 PH I haven't used yet.
