Thread: Swords PvP info combine

Seems that

Master Swords
0404 Fencer
0300 TKA
4004 Doc
(maybe move xxx4 doc somewhere)

is the best choice for a swordsman who wants to be able to PvP. Or some variation close to that.

so what are some other strategies you have? what are your favorite foods? PuPs? Gear?

MSwords/TKM/Doc 4000 seems to do well, add FS melee speed 4 to that and you've got a nice solid template. I use +damage+ speedpowerups, because with the number of speed mods I have the higher speed/damage the better... I hardly notice action costs.

I guess I've got a problem, but action seems to always be an issue for me. I use +190 Blob Candy, Blue Boosters (don't need the health regen as Doc) and a SAC pup all of the time. I often have buffs for action, mind, and speed, and find myself downing a Vasarian Brandy or Breath of Heaven depending on who I have to fight. As Swordman, I feel that a really important piece of gear is a nice +25 Speed SEA. Speed is always your friend

I find that the temp:


MSwords/TKM/Medic 4040/ FS- Melee Speed/Melee Defense/ Melee accuracy


works the best for me against other melee and jedi.



MSwords provides critical hit, along with the ever-strong powerhammer


TKM gives some stasis efects, along with meditate and powerboost, and innate armor.


Medic 4040, although not as good as doc, provides minimal buffage, along with decent healing


FS- helps cap off accuracy and speed

BTW, I'm almost 100% sure that blind/dizzy/stun are bugged right now, and do nothing.

well i think 0300 TK is useless....either get 0100 for CoB , but i really think 0400 is important fro having teh most succesful and repeatable KD


and yes ur CL 80



i also prefer 0034 fencer, but i dont really plan on snaring ranged if they wanna i dont bother chasing em, il find someone else ot hit...or jsut force em to get clsoe ot me, and i do like blind , i guess its prefereance, +15 mele def adna blind, or +10 speed and a snare, play to ur style


but teh TK thing is wasting SP,



i feel master 2h 0034 fencer 0404 TK 4000 doc is the best template, unless u know u cant get buffs easy in which case drop to 0400 TK and 4004 doc ( i have first template and my buddy has second and works awesome)





also, i am testign blind more, and if it doesnt work at all im definatly switchign to 0004 fencer 0403 TK 4004 doc



i really think accuracy isa must , curretnly over 300 and soon a people CoB they become real hard to hit and ever bit of accuracy helps

I built myself this little thing:


Master swordsman, Force Enhancer 3403, Force Healer 4000, Defender 0040 (but thinking of exchanging it for Force Power 0400)


It works quite nicely versus any normal profession combo. Jedi on the other hand either eat me alive or take a while to kill me.


The template gives me a root, a decentsnare, decent healing and defense + center of being without the zipperbar. Plus I get to scare BHs silly by chasing them with a N-K Executer instead of trying to run away with a glowbat

I'm going to have to disagree a little bit on a couple of things.


The first thing i'll point out is the Weapon Selection. As it is right now the best weapons available to melee professions are the fencer weapons (blade of nyth, junti mace, acid sword) If you are a master Swords and you pick up the x4xx line of fencer you get all the 1-hand speed mods and end up being faster with a Fencer weapon than just a master fencer would be. Main reason they are better is the combination of a lower sac (95) and retaining a high dmg output (1040ish).


The accuracy you gain from your suggestion is a little bit helpful but in the template that was mentioned initially in this thread you have 225 1h and 245 2h, both respectable numbers but not something i'd go at a jedi with solely. The use of food is crucial and will be more crucial as more people realize the viability of a melee template. There is a drink (corellian ale?) that gives approximately 100-200 melee accuracy for approximately 45 seconds plus crispic which i've seen get around 80ish. Having the improved KD in my experience is typically a KD everytime unless they are on timer or you miss. I find that spending those 2 sp's from the 4th box in doctor to get the speed buff (<3) is much more beneficial all in all.


From what i've heard the state effects (blind,stun,dizzy) are not working correctly at this time but i'm not 100% sure on that. In regards to the snare, against ranged it will help a little bit if you do feel like tracking them down but i'm more concerned about taking out those jedi and keeping them away from my ranged backup. A snare keeps them in your range at all times, /follow is your friend.


The most important point I had here was in the weapon selection because that makes the biggest difference. EnderUK has shared the most reliable tactic with you all (not sure if it was in this thread) and now there's no reason you can't put up a heck of a fight against anyone, a lot of times several anyones.

smuggler > all (sorry I had to)

You did bring up a good point about the buffing line of doctor though. You really only need one person in your group to have the buffing line. As I stated elsewhere, putting those 4 points into ranged healing to get bacta toss and more importantly bacta spray is in my opinion the best option to help your group win.

This is what a buddy of mine has. It's been sliced and pup'd but the stats are obtainable by anyone. it's base max dmg is 1040.


Sorry if we're hijacking the thread but this is a good example of the type of weapon to use in PvP.

im mSwords, doc 4-0-0-4, fencer 0-3-0-4, tka 0-4-0-0.



id rather have a more reliable knockdown then a longer snare. kd is vital to your damage component, it has to work.



anyways, havnt lost a fight except to 1 jedi in particular, i wnt1 and 3 with him. once i pick up some good stims and food ill beat him tho.


not much different than pre-cu, but yea, its teh own!
