Thread: What to kill for best experience gains?

I have seen some master Swordsmen, or even near master Swordsmen posting here. My question is how did you master it? What did you kill on which planet? My Swordsman is on Corbantis and is in Tyrena right now randomly killing NPC's near town for a few hundred Sword exp each kill. This is slow as can be... does anyone have any tactics to share with me on how I can gain faster? I'm not looking for an exploit or an easy grind, I'm looking for an efficient place to use my time. I'm currently novice Sword but I'm close to my first box in the tree, I have a decent Cleaver with 155 minimum damage and an attack speed of about 3.2 I think... where should Igo to gain? Any advice is appreciated.

I just started my swordsman character a week ago and I'm 0/4/1/2, first I grinded diseased vrelts in the Agrilat Swamp until novice, and from novice to where I am now I've been constantly grouping on Dathomir in groups of about 7 skilledpeople (make sure to have a doctor with rez), I use a 2H Curved Sword and just spam 2H Hit II on all the mobs, usually get 3k per kill.

kthxbye

Good suggestion, I feared that grouping is the only way. I just play so late at night it's actually tough to get a group sometimes!

Well I never hunted on corellia. I did my novice and beyound hunting on tatooine.I spent alot of time inWayfar (thats where the bigger game is) Feral Banthas were jackpots and i always was on the look out for them. They don't swarm and diein three swings of head hit 2.... 3 hits for 800-1000 XP!!!! Dune lizards Nice too, a little bit harder to kill but about 1300 XP.

You could also go to Lok and look for lower lvl mobs. Gurnesets are nice but snakes tend to die quicker for the same or more xp. Trick is, if its aggro your gonna get more xp then something the same lvl and passive. Pulled perleks for a while to...

I then went to Yavin 4 and hit starting Discovered Spamming Area Hit 1.... the rest is history,Icould get like 200k-400k xp a night (5 hours) if grouped. I didn't need the group for help, just for xp bonus but those days are over for us all. Only thing i see killalbe on yavin 4 solo would be mamiens. Which only give about 600-1000 xp depending on your lvl and mamien type... but they are EVERYWHERE, and don't swarm. Go with a friend for the xp bonus!!! Then just single out targets and solo them

Mamiens on Yavin 4? That sounds easy enough... any idea which location they spawn most around?

Take a look at the mission Terminal, you should be able to find Mamien missions within 500 meters

Rancors on Dathomir. You only need 2 people, 1 CH and 1 swordsman and you get huge xp. I get 5k sword xp per kill and my CH friend was getting 1500-2500 CH XP. The pets we used were 2 khamurras (1 mine 1 his) and a graul (which oddly enough never took the aggro). It's great xp, lots of fun and they spawn like crazy.

Anything requiring a pet of any kind is out of the question. Not to say it doesn't work but I am 100% against the creature handler class, it goes against the continuity of Star Wars... who in Star Wars ran around with pet Rancors walking lovingly behind them? It's a joke and I will never support the CH type and make it a point not to associate myself with them very often. I can't blame people for using that skill tree, it's too good to pass up... but where's the diversity when everyone playing the game is a CH? Just look at the posts, the CH posts are 15x more numerous than swordsmen! They even outnumber Jedi Posts by tens of thousands... it's just not right... lol

Anyway, thanksfor the thought though...

P.S. I just got incapped by a male mamien after killing a couple of youths...

Go to Dantooine and kill Pikets and Bols, but NOT Voritors (unless you have a doctor who can heal poison or don't mind extreme downtime while the poison wears off). You can do these solo if you have some Medic skill and if you use the melee pulling trick.

I started my swordsman training in Corellia, then I moved to Endor, got master in a week. Most of the creatures can give you 2k-5k exp, and you don't need to run around to find them. They are everywhere.

And other than a jedi did you see anyone weilding melee weapons? Hypocrite.

Alright here is something easy...

Don't waste money on Dantooine or Dathomir or any of the High Planets...yet. You need to build a few more defenses first if you plan on doing this solo. Go to Dearic on Talus, bring a cdef pistol or if you have some scout skills, stock up on traps and go looking for giant dalyrake nests. Use the gun or trap to pull one dalyrake away from the mob (they are aggro but will not pack unless you are standing among several) and when its a safe distance away from the others, beat it down with your sword. Giant Dalyrakes give about 1500 xp at your level and once you have farmed the whole nest, destroy the nest for another 3k in xp. Have some med skills because they can hit hard and can poison as well. Some spice and stim b's would be very helpful. Giant Dalyrakes do not DB and you can easliy get 20k in xp per nest. Once you get a few bars filled on the tree, then go to Dath., Dant. or Yavin with a group to help fend off the unfriendly mobs that will eventually crash your party...save Endor for later as itrequires a medic unless you enjoy disease and poison.
