i dont know if anyone has the same problem as me but, when i enter into a fight and as long as my target is moving im unable to hit it.... the situation is that as long as the target which i'm trying to destroy is moving it is inpossible for me to hit it , no matter what kind of target we are talking about. it seems that with every patch the devs made so fare, the game is getting worse and worse....i had an easier time killing a monster with 400 ham moving when i was a novice brawler with no xp points then if i'm a master swordsman potentionally doing 7-8k damage per hit....

if i do a mission that involves destroying an engeneer and his droids.. although i run twice as fast as the droinds fly and im right next to them in the combat ...i end up chasing the droid around for about a minute without ever hitting it..needless to say i ran through half the galaxy alredy at this point trying to chase down the target. and no matter what i do i end up dead from a stupid droid that should take me a quater of one of my hits to kill

just wondering if anyone has the same problems

Being kited is our bane and there's currently no way around it. I wonder if the devs will ever "fix" this problem for us.

One can only hope.

Use the Mobs AI. I have found that when a mob starts kitting me, I go prone and start firing my ranged weapon. The mob stops ussuly, kneels or lays down, or switches to melee since he thinks I am now an easy melee target and advances. I then use the jump up fire manuver and switch to my melee weapon.

Of course this does not work with players, but on any humenoid ranged mob that I have tried this it did work great. Think about it. If you have somebody with a big nasty looking sword/axe/cleaver/polearm running up to you, and you got a gun, would you not run and trie to kite him. but if the same mob dropped and started firing at you, you would either stop and fire back, or grab your sword and run at him. The AI does the same thing.

hope this helps a little.

Since you no longer need CH to get a lower lvl pet, have a good higher lvl CH train you up a Cu Pa. They have 1100 HAM and a ranged attack. They also run everybit as fast as enemy MOBs do, so if the MOB stops to fight your Cu Pa you can catch up to it. The Cu Pa also has a Stun attack.

WowVanRichten, you mean we might actually have to use tactics and our brains to suceed at this profession instead of just blaming bugs or the devs? There's a new slant on the topic if I ever heard one.

Well 2 partial solutions -

1) get a pet - I use a Rock Beetle, should be usable by anyone - or a cu pa would maybe be even better. Beetle has ranged attack -I run up with Kill command prepped and ready to go, target riflemen/pistoleers and tell pet to kill, before i have aggro - mobs focus on pet, leave me alone, I run up and slice em to ribbons Of course I'm talking about fairly lowbie missions, like difficulty 11, but you did say paralope lol - this has worked for me doing level 11 rebel misisons just fine.

2) use traps, if you can - root/snare the hell outta em, run up and slice em to ribbons.

Don't know if that's useful advice, but there it is )

Well the strategy call was a bit silly, because you would have to be a rifleman too to be able to do that. I think it is stupid to make it so a swordsman can only practice his trade if he uses a different trade first (having to use ranged attack or a pet to engage the target). This is just silly.

I am not happy about the handling of melee issues by the devs or the "don't bring a knife to a gunfight" mentality. I am bringing a knife, and its a bloody big one at that! at least give us some impaling attack so we can litterally pin them down..

*spikes lord vaders feet to the deck* do your yedi fly trick now grandad!

p.s. did anyone ever consider how big a bleed attack a sword of the size we use would make... then why do we get such a measly one?

Personally, I find it extremely useful to have a good blaster at my side for cases like this. You don't even have to go as far as I did (Novice Pistoleer)... just a bit up one of the Marksman trees tp use a decent gun. Guns make good initiating weapons too, as you can make tougher enemies bleed before they even start chasing you.

I did not state it was right or wrong that you do have to have some minor spec in any ranged weapon. But another point, I also found that I use a lower spec ranged weapon, thereby changing the con of the mob to red, the mob seems mroe likley to switch to melee and advance toward me. Could be just luck, but has worked for me every time.
