Rebster you are indeed correct, it does not matter if you are a Master Weaponsmith or not, but I do suggest contacting a Jedi with the force repair line.

There is no conclusive evidence that a smith weapon or armor get any type of bonus to repairing weapons. The reality is, everything in this game is designed to break. Thats why its not so hot an idea to pay gazillions of creds for something that will crumble in time.

always look for a master weaponsmith if ur gunna think about repairing weapons. They might use some extra BE clothes which could also help it. But never try it yourself, unless your a weapons smith yourself

Also, some saythe repairs are better and the item is less likely to be destroyed if you don't wait until it is almost gone before repairing.

my personal experience is never repair if the item is above 50% of the max condition. You can loose more condition by repairing than you gain if its above 50%. I'm not to sure if the lower the condition the more difficult it is to repair. I repaired my comp chest last night, it was 3k/27k and it repaired back to 22k/22k.

There is one trick. Repair weapon immediately after you get "your weapon has less than 25% condition remaining". Then you almost never fail. WIth armor, repair it immediately after it begins to decay, or after 50% is gone.

I had a WS on radiant repair my krayt ion rifle which was at 390/1109 con left, he used some 100% repair tools and had some repair mod clothing. When he repaired it he got minor blemishes and put con to 1049/1049.
