Thread: Squad Leader XP changes with todays patch
combat xp total for the group, excluding yours.
Example :
2 people, 2 at-st's in a group.
Kill a Horned Kreevol.
I got 20 combat XP, other member got 28.
I got 28 combat XP.
Is this an intentional nerf to SL XP ? Previously, I would have got 20*2*4 = 160SLXP
Just grouped with a pet, kill a mob & get 30 combat XP, get 0 SL XP.
so they have nerfed squad leaders =/
Any news on the fix on the abilities or is that just another nerf ?
I still smile though =) I only wanted the field commander title ![]()
See! Careful what you ask for, you just might get it. People were complaining that the XP was based on your individual damage, and not the success of the group. Now it IS based on the success of the group and you're complaining about this? Oh well, I guess you guys are the type of people who will never be happy. I'm having a great time. Squad Leader for ever! Game on!

It's not a nerf for anyone who wants to play a SL/Doctor or SL/CM or SL/CH or SL/Ranger or SL/Dancer for that matter.
SL/Doctor, SL/Combat Medic, and SL/Ranger all sound like great combos to me if you don't mind being a support character. Under the old rules, you couldn't advance in squad leader without personally doing damage.
Lets see...you need 4.9 million SL xp. Your group needs to earn 4.9 million combat xp?!? That's 49 million weapon xp! I am a master SL and master pistoleer, so this really doesn't affect me. But, it affects a WHOLE lot of SL. If I were in a group with a different SL leading, one who needed xp, I would earn him ZIP. I would be like dead weight for him. I don't earn combat xp anymore so he would earn NO SL xp. This is ridiculous! What were they thinking? Yes, we wanted SL xp to be based more on how the group performed, but this is...this is...incredible.
Okay, lets think about this. You have to travel with 10 other players who are going from novice to master in an advanced combat prof. Think about that! Not combat medics. Not Docs. Not CH. You need 10 separate people who are going to master pistoleer, rifleman or carbineer. This is incredible! (yes, its a little over 10, but that diff is made up by the CM/Doc/CH getting a little xp.) What are they thinking?
I would add that while I like the idea behind the formula, the formula itself is probably off. They have effectively removed pets from the equation which instantly halves the experience gained.
