Thread: Squad Leader XP changes with todays patch
i have been on dan with 3 other players and i'm only getting 495 SL exp ocassionally most of the time i get 140 - 200 SL exp. my group size is usually 5 players so what will i be gettng? 600 ? hhahahahah good planning SOE.
i agree that the EXP gain needed to be changed but this is serious over kill
Okay, let's run some numbers real quick to see what this change really does. I'll assume that the old formula was#squad members x 2 xpersonal combat xp and the new formula is sum(combat xp from all other squad members)
Let's say you're grouped up with 3 friends killing stuff that gives everyone, on average, 100 combat xp.
Pre-patch, you get 100 combat xp,in a group of4 people comes out to roughly800 squad leader xp.
Post-patch, everyone gets 100 combat xp, so you get 300 squad leader xp.
Now let's say you're grouped up with 19 friends killing stuff that gives everyone, on average, 100 combat xp.
Pre-patch, you get 100 combat xp, with 20 people that's roughly 4000 squad leader xp.
Post-patch, you get 1900 squad leader xp.
Pre-patch you could easily get more "people" in the group, and therefore more SL xp, by having everyone add their pets. Now, pets don't make any difference.
Best case scenario this patch is a halving of squad leader xp across the boards. Worst case (including pets) it's actually much, much worse than halved.

And this is something they need to fix without question. It should be based on pre-adjusted combat exp.

Actually medics in your group are a good thing. Medics and traps throwers get combat exp far in excess of pure weapons guys. You can turn a critter which is normally worth 500 combat exp to a group into a 1000 combat exp gain easily. Medics need to heal damage to the weapons people while the weapons people are fighting. The scout/rangers just need to throw a few traps. Stand back and watch the combat exp go way up.
You have got to be f-ing kidding me. I'm getting close to quitting the game all together now. I hardly call repairing rally/volley fire a fix since they were useless before.
To sum it up now, it is twice as hard to get xp for the same useless skills that we were gettingbefore. Why should we have to earn more xp for something that wasn't worth the xp before the change.
These guys don't have a clue to how their programming/product works. The management is piss/poor at best and to keep beating down a jacked up class is the most idiotic thing I have ever seen.
Way to go SOE...way to go Devs......and everyone is wondering why the populations are thinning? It's pretty obvious.
Well, did some testing and all I can say is the Dev team totally laid an egg.. Thanks for making the most sucky class more sucky.. nice job
You guys are requiring us to make master squad leader for our FS slot and now you basically tell us that it will be the year 2010 before we can even complete that first step.
Went hunting with some friends group of 7 taking our rebel missions that are like level 99-250 killing surface marshels and generals.. that sorta thing..
on average for a surface marshal or general it varied from 12 to 400 SL exp per kill..
Seems its all dependant on how much combat exp one group member gets that being the highest.. Say group member A gets 250 combat exp and group member b gets 200.. The SL gets around 280-300 SL points becausethe bonus and points come from and are applied against group member A since he had the MOST exp within the group..
Killed a 130 CL Albatross Peko Peko and I got a whopping 120 SL exp.. I did however get a feather for my cap.
I hate to use the word's stupid and idiotic, but this is the class i have to master for my FS slot and there is no way to get there.. its impossible. I get no exp for grouping with my pets and soloing.. I get LESS exp ifI do any damage at all to any mob.. If you want to keep it this way then the exp per slot in the SL trees need to be reduced by 100 fold.. that will bring it within reason.
Thats my whine for today.. Dev's are retarded.. nuff said..
