Thread: FAQ Suggestions?
what's the real cert for the tchootchee pistol?
it says offense III (all in code) and, well there's no "offense" skill line lol
Since I'm already MSL, modify the FAQ that's already up to fit the new system.
Use the list that I've compiled thus far on weapons in it. If it can be retrieved, a better description of the Abilities as well as the duration the ability lasts. Good ways, not easy ways of getting higher within the tree. I know that that sounds wrong to some, but I worked my head off to get MSL with very little help from others. I had more fun with all night hard grinding than 4 or 5 hour quick grinding sessions. Tips on being an effective SL, such as best time to use certain abilities to make them last longer (steady aim right before combat) or whatever. Clearer ways to change the color of the /sysgroup command. I've tried numerous things and I'm either getting the whole thing in one color or I'm getting the command in with the /sys. More will come when I'm not tired.
cool down timers and windups times as well durations and the effects and the range of the effects, maybe even special action costs if someone knows them should be there for each special we have in addition with some nice macro examples. I realy love the volleyfire macro from influenca.
E.g. the steady aim icon is showing but there is no info about what it does in the tooltips.
Also the list of SL certified weapons could be put into the FAQ.
In addition I would unsticky the old sticky combined and sticky some of the seperated threads again so you can see them immediatly when you hit the forum.
A list of the current bugs should be incorporated as well as well as a condensed list of all ideas for the SL revamp from this forum as well from the in_concept forum (probadly a lot of work).
Also the do you talk like a SL or a condensed list from it, is one of the threads I would like to see on the top since it is "distinguishing" us from all other profession, since we are a social combat profession.
According alienentitys good way to grind SL, someone mentioned that you couldnt carry anough Pistol XP if you dont take pistoleer or at least pistols IV. This should be mentioned too as well as some common templates with their specific purpose, weakness and strengths.
maybe not all things i mentioned should be put into one thread but at least in a stick to easier handle access it and update it, but this are my suggestions only =)
Yes, I guess all this will be in the official faq and in even greater detail but I think a simplified version will greatly aid us in distributing information on exactly what we do and create consistency in the information we are disrobing.
Non-SL's don't care if volley fire is a buff or a debuff, they don't care if we have to stand still to rally. The very details that we want to know could be stopping non-SL's from looking at our faq, there are some people that will never look at our faq but I think with plain hard numbers for them we will only be helping ourselves in getting our message out to those that considered looking through but didn't want to wade through just to get the pieces they wanted, how many times have you been told what you can do and it has been totally wrong and you have had to put them right?

I'm currently working on compiling a new "make the most of your skills" list, since some of the abilities have changed. I started to edit the other day, grew depressed, and shut off my computer. If anyone wants to help me, let me know, since I gave up SL till the revamp.

I was just gettting ready to PM you to ask you to update it. That's a great guide.
to the two of you
what about taking some of the work to the
star wars wiki ?
You wouldnt be left alone with compiling all information on your own, since other ppl could jump in with their knowledge ? In addition you know who is working on what, thus ensuring not two pple put a lot of work into the same part of a FAQ.
I already am trying to convince ppl from the carbineer forum there as well as you can see here or a direct link here
I think something similar would definitly fit superb into the squad leader section.
I just kicked it of, its still blank but I invite you all eagerly to contribute =) ....
