I am a master carbineer with bounty carbines 4, this leaves me with 40 points to put into squad leader, im planning for 3044, is this good in you opinions? Also, do the defence modifiers apply to myself only when im grouped and the leader, or when im alone and ungrouped? Thank youfor any responces.

defense modifiers affect the whole group , as well as yourself. But you have to be grouped.

The "active" SL ablities require that you be the group leader to work; and i've read the terrain mod only works if YOU invite to the group. SO basicly if your SL , it's best if you just make the group and invite.

you dont necessarily have to invite everyone you should just be leader.

I read in another thread , that Group terrain negotiation is bugged , and won't work to those you didn't invite.

I wouldnt recommend that you start SL if you dont plan on finishing it, the bonus' arent that good unless your a MSL, and can fail a lot.

I concur with Dante, why would I wanna be in a group with a 3044 SL when I could be in a group with a 4-4-4-4 SL? Doesn't make sense, plus mods aren't all that great unless you get them all. My suggestion, Carbineers s*ck, Drop Carbineer and pick up SL master it, and if you wanna make cash in PVE go master swords man but if you just wanna be perfect in PVP go Riffle man.

The reason why 3044 or 4044 is better for SLs than MASTER is because the Strategy branch sucks since steady aim and volley fire are mostly useless and busted skills. Mobility 3 is where you get GTN +50 and bonuses after that only effect crawl speed so they dont matter. Leadership 4 gets you boost morale which is useful and tactics 4 gets you retreat and your melee bonuses. So really that is all you need. The bonuses of the master box are small and can easily be made up with seas so you save 15 skill points.

Carbineers dont suck they are actually a very powerfull class then the player is skilled in it. Also Carbineers are the perfect fit for SLs as the SL is a support profession and the Carbineer is a group based combat profession. Area KD and Area Stun/dizzys are amazing in group pvp.

next time i think you guys should really read and learn a little more before you start giving advice.

Damn estan did you just start playing this game? You registered yesterday lol

formup and retreat cant fail. The only skills that fail like rally and volley fire are broken anyway.

Actually rally is probally the most important skill. I see a big difference in battles when I use it, the only problem is it has poor sucess rates, hence why the higher you are the better. Boost moral I usually use to heal up fire or disease, reatreat for getting behind enemy lines fast, and rally for better dodge.

BTW, lose the attitude.

I dont know where you get your information from. The SL community has done a lot of testing on rally and the general consensus has been it is not beneficial at all especially because of its drawbacks. Even the devs has responded with saying that rally is broken and doesnt provide the bonuses it should be.

And i didnt have an attitude i was just saying that many people post without really researching the info they are putting up. And i seriously wanted to know if he was new to the game as he was a brand new member. I know Yog was a fairly new member and new to SL specifically.
