I just finished mastering carbineer and I must say that this profession blows. There is no other way around it. So, I would like to replace it and before I go and regrind another prof that ive already grinded (ive mastered all the damn combat profs now) I just wanted to see what people though would be the best combat mastery to supplement with master squad leader. I am not willing to drop master squad leader and dable so it would have to have those lost skill points in mind.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

if you think carbineer blows you must not like to think. Or not have the BH carbines. Either way Pistoleer is probably the best for SLs. SInce we need to be marksman anyway just pick one of them. Pistoleer has great defenses, nice weaponry, and low HAM costs to go with the high cost of SL abilities. Rifleman does great damage and has good defense but has high ham costs.

Well I cant take BH carbines since I dont want to drop master squad leader. There just isnt enough skill points. So its either rifleman, pistoleer and carbineer.

I got really frustrated because I felt like the most useless guy on the battlefield. I could not really damage anyone, and had no defence to keep me alive either. I was a rifleman before I picked up carbineer and I was able to dish out great damage but I figured carbineer would be better because of the area states and KD, but I just didnt find that I was having the same kind of impact I had hoped I would.

I was a master pistoleer/master squad leader for months, if you don't like carbineer then go pistoleer. If you are a patient person though, just stick with carbineer since issues with it will be addressed sooner or later, heck they are even getting sweet new carbines.

Remember just having SL alone will make you less "uber" cause you area support profession. Just make sure to keep your men from getting dizzy, and use your /sys commands to control the squad. I recently picked up carbineer and I must say i'm having a blast with it, and i think it suits an SL the best personally. What you could do is just drop master like I did and go 0 0 4 4 in SL until the revamp, then pick up BH carbines. With that you'll still get boost morale, form up, retreat, rally and +30 to melee and ranged, more then enough.

If you go pistoleer, get yourself a nice geo weapon with speed powerups and get smuggler rogue to spam last ditch since its the most powerful pistol mod.

Right now I see no need for master SL, I was one forever since like last september but there isn't a point except a bonus +5 to melee and ranged defense which isn't worth it right now. Lets hope this community can work together to fix that sincethere are some amazing ideas that have been gathered over the months.

Rifleman is by far the superior class to hold with Squad Leader. I have also found that you only need 3034 Squad Leader to be effective in PvP. That gives you pretty much all the skills you need. You could do 3134 to get steadyaim, but I don't find myself using it too much if I want to actually be in the battle and not just spamming SL specials.

My current template is 3034 SL, Master Rifleman, novice brawler, 2040 Medic

Thelar,

I'm about to drop Sl. Don't worry everyone, my alt will pick it up. Well i agree with alot of the others, carbineer is a strong Profession to have with SL. I'm doing Master Carb. BH 0400 and SL 2044. I disagree with chairssp with droping boastmoral, all my guilds have loved that. When the fighting gets hairy, or you're at vette with TKMs. Its handy to have and help get rid of wounds. Now my alts template will be in no way my main pvper, he's my group guy. So i won't be suprised when i'm not droping the enemy on the battle with incap shots. But i will be droping them fire knockdown and laying down the carbine effects on them like crazy.

If you do a lot of PvE then boostmorale is very helpful over a long period of time. During PvP I have found very little use for the skill. I was Master SL for a very long time, but having novice brawler makes such a difference and I like having the medic skills, especially pharmacology 4 so I can use Stim E's. You could always drop one of the first aid boxes and pick up the box with boostmorale. If I was going to sacrifice any medic at all though, I'd probably drop the two firstaid boxes and take the steadyaim box.

im a master carbineer BH 3-3-0-0 and SL

and i can solo whole GROUPS of nightsister rangers, initiates, outcasts and even take on up to 3 sentinels solo without any medic or help. I think my best so far has been a group of 12 Rangers cut down in a bloody swath of burstshot.

i dunno what your prob is lol. I dunno what the quality of your weapons ar eon your sever..but i usually use laser carbines powered up to around 570 damage, i have afew that go up to 610 damage.

I have played as MSL/master marksman/master pistoleer, MSL/MSM, SL/MSM/TKA/Fencer, and now SL/Carbineer

and i gotta say i enjoy carbineer the best with SL.if i dropped BH investigation i could nearly master it. The only thing master squad leader gives atm, really, is what +10 defenses? The GTN bonus at master means diddly because you alrdy get +50 in mobility...at master u just dump the GTN into crawl speed. and even those the defenses are nice its not worth the extra 20+ SP's just for the +10.

ive played an SL a very long tiem and currently i see no reason to even have it mastered.

I like to play more of a support role as squadleader...

I go MSL/MCarbineer/medic 4-2-X-X

/boostmorale with a surgical droid (110med rate) and Injurytreatment 4 works great for any melee type, you don't just need a TKM. ALthough them medittating the wounds away is faster , it's not interly necessary.
