Oh well, I guess 1 out of 3 aint bad.
Only to tell me to;
Try to post what you don't like about the profession. What you've posted isn't really helpful.

Actually,
He looked at it, read it, and requested what you did not like about the profession. There is a high liklihood he'll check on the message again.
Put in your ideas, thoughts, fixes. It is on thefirst page still (!)and drawing some posts out. Its been stated that they do forward particular threads to the devs. Make this one count ![]()
I know, hope springs enternal. But really.. what does anyone have to lose?
ok he wants what we dont like here goes
SL skills are for the most part broken or usless. volly fire doesnt work half the time and it only lasts one round! rally and stready aim do not give signifigant enough improvements to matter. boost moral is a joke. the only thing we do have going for use is /sysgroup which is only as good as teh SL that uses it.
skill mods? what skill mods? the melee and reanged defences stack ontop of what players aready have so unless we are grouped with a bunch of low level new characters the skill mods dont effect anyone once the skill cap is reached. and group terrain nav... just about everyone has the exploration tree form scout so thats uselss to.
SLs offer nothing to group, and thats the entire point of our profession to boost the power of groups, and we have nothing to offer! player will seek rangers if they are hunting specific game, or comandos if hey need heavy fire power or doctors if they want good buffs and the revive ability. but when it come to putting a group together no one says "hmmm, we could really use a SL, id better do a search as see if there are any in the area that would be willing to help us." and theres no reason to want one!
consider this, if two groups with the exact same numbers and the exact same professions at the exact same skill level battle it out it would probably be a very close fight with only one or two people left stnading. but give one of those groups a SL and what would you expect teh out come to be? i personaly would expect the side with a SL to have the advantige over the side without one, but the way our profession works there just isnt anything we can do to tip the ballance of any battle.
i like the idea of a SL, i think its a great profession for RPing purposes, i want to stick with it because i like the road less travled. i belive if we hold out long enough the DEVs will finaly make us into something to be proud of. im not going to give up SL and im going to keep pushing to get things fix and added in, but the more i read these forums the more i start to question if things are ever going to improve
I have to say thanks for quoting my list of issues for us. I also reposted it with all of my updates. I found a few other issues to add... scary considdering I have around 17 items and some with a, b, c's to them too.
If i remember well, there's a stuff called "SL correspondent report", sent centuries ago, he should read... ![]()
I have not reach SL yet, (only 7500 Combat XP left) so I probably shouldn't talk, but here is what I think based on what everyone else has said.
1. Many of the special abilities (volley fire, rally, and boostmorale) do not work.
2. Many of the abilities are pointless to use due to:
a. They are very taxing on the player.
b. The player can fail at them.
c. Can only be used once then require hours of rest.
Do not have a good enough effect for their cost.
3. Squad Leading ability is lacking. The system message command is not enough.
Could be improved through (a,b,and c are not my ideas, but are very good ones):
a. Defensive Bunkers that do not give camp benefits.
b. Designate target, wounded, and medic commands.
c. Vision of entire groups active way points.
d. Mine own far fetched wish: A tactics palette that works almost like a paint program. It opens a map and allows you to paint in waypoints that appear on the other group member's screens so you can create "battle plans" to help your group out.
4. XP system is self defeating and currently not functioning correctly.
5. No decent benefits for joining a profession that takes 135 skill points to master.
