Im sure you all have read the new state of the game letter. SL revamp goes down for publish 10. This means it is time for us to perhaps reorganize all of our ideas, debate them each in their own thread perhaps, and maybe even have some sort of poll on what we want to see done with SL, so we can present the devs with the revamp we want for our profession.

I'd agree that you guys need a huge revamp, but I think that both are equal in importance.
What can a Smuggler really do? Two pistol moves that aren't any good without pistoleer? Sell faction to people by giving up hours of their game time? Sure we can slice, thats about it. In the Star Wars lore, Smugglers were the shady figures in the cantinas, the guys who could get spice off-world safely for the crime lords. Our loyalties are flexable as long as the credits are good, and all the good stuff. As of right now we are Smuggler in name only.
Squad Leaders. Have a ton of potential, right now they can cure a state, leave cool messages, make me burst run and supposedly make me aim better, as well as delete a base in GCW. What a squad leader can do to turn the tide of the battle by using his/her abilities to shape up the troops and have them perform better in combat is what needs to be seen, not just some profession you can master in a few hours on your hologring. A true stable, working class that adds richness to the game and can make things run smoother in tough situations in the hands of a capable master.
Fact of the matter is, both should be a viable member in the GCW, PvE and PvP. When you go out in a group there are certain professions that people will automatically look for. Doctors, Melee professions for tanks, same with creature handles. In PvP, combat medics and docs as well as the "uber" templates. When revamping more or less broken professions they need to bring us into balance with the rest of the game. As to who is needed first? Thats a tough question, undoubtedly to keep either side happy its going to be a complete makeover, guess it came down to who was easier to code
Edited-added last couple of lines in the SL paragraph

Yaaaaaaaaa. I read that thing twice and never saw the line that said SL revamp. Happy happy joy joy. That was about the time I thought SL might get a revamp, but am still a little perturbed they are revamping jedi before they finish with the other professions. Oh well.
Even if the xp changes, I think the people that master it before the patch will be people like us that want SL and had it at one point and want the new stuff. Even if it takes me two weeks to master with some new xp, I want MSL back before the revamp so I can have it in all its glory *grin*

Hmmm. I see what you're saying, and it might be something we could push to get added to pub 9 (the one before the SL pub) but so many profs can be mastered in four hours. Wouldn't people just see us as petty if we pushed to get the xp changed right before it gets revamped?

Yeah but then whats the point of making a "broken" proffesion harder to master?

Squad Leader revamp...
/speachless
Wow, I had nearly completely given up on SL to pursue Bounty Hunter. I still have SL, but onlylevel four in theMobilty tree. So we're going to finally be revamped? Does anyone have any idea as to what that means really? Correspondent, do you know?

There is already a place for organization of ideas, check the "proposals currently on the table" thread, it has links to official discussion threads. no need in mucking up the boards when there is already a place for it.
