Does Irott get to take along five deserving candidates, too - or are they gonna go ahead & test this without us?

I think it's funny how a someone other than the correspondent brought this to the attention of the SL forum. I hope who ever does go to the sandbox is a VOCAL advocate for squad leaders because the silence on the SL forum is deafening. Full disclosure from correspondents regarding timetables or opportunities to test new things would be nice...

heheh... I was wondering when someone woud ask this question.

I have already asked a few people, butnot everyone has the time or desire to test. So I am just going to informally ask here now for anyone who is willing to go with me and like 165 ofthers to test this Combat stuff out. Please post a short paragraph on why you should go and what you can bring to the testing process. Do not PM me cause that would just take too long. And since our profession is a hybrid support profession I know many of you are dedicated to other professions as well and you may be asked by other correspondents to work with them. Go with what you feel more adamant about, but remember that you can still pick both professions while playing so you can do double duty testing. ^_^

Thanks for the thread Unagi.

PS. I would like to havetwo peoplewho are willing to play as neutral Squad Leaders, because we all know that the neutral/faction thing is a real thorn in our sides. Apure support SL would be nice to have as well... like a Ranger/SL or something along that lines.

And also if you do not have the time or ability to commit to this but know of someone else who would be a good candidate, then give me their name or have them contact me.

This is still in its infancy... and its every correspondents choice as to how they pick their team. As I posted above, I have already contacted a few players who I thought would be good candidates. Please do not doubt the system.

Also on a side note. There are a few members out there that seem to be a hot commodity. Much like a bunch of kids collecting baseball cards, we the correspondents are trading and fighting over certain "rare" players. heh.

I'm not saying that the people you initially asked are the wrong people. But for all the community knows, they could be horrible testers, lack vision for the profession, or simply are just too passive to voice their opinions. We all want great things for the SL profession but maybe their ideas don't meld with the rest of the community.

But this is what I'm talking about with disclosure. You waited for someone else to bring the sandbox up. I noticed it first with that post entitled "The Truth about our revamp time..." Your withholding of information is plain deception. If you think that the community will get pissed at what we hear, then it's our right to do so. I'd almost say that it's disrespectful to us that you are attempting to filter the information regarding SLs. Just give us the common courtesy to tell us information when you get it. And if you want to pick a certain team to go then tell us so people can voice their opinions on who's being sent. Chances are most people will just be congratulating the persons recommended but at least open it to debate in case it's needed.

My paragraph.

I'm not very vocal here on the Squad Leader forums, but I fight for Squad Leaders with a passion, hehe. I havn't been a Squad Leader nearly as long as some of the other people on this board, but I have played and enjoyed 18 professions since day one and have what I believe is a very good understanding of the game and the balance the Developers are going for. I am willing to do whatever is needed to make this profession, and all others balanced. I am definately willing to go neutral, because the Galactic Civil War is not that important to me. I've done ranger, and that is by far my most favorite profession aside from this one . I am willing to tackle a complete support role, Ranger/Squad leader is a template I had considered for my main. I have a great understanding of this profession and I think I have learned to use it to the best of my abilities. So if you think I'm a good candidate, please consider me because I would like to see nothing more then this MMORPG use it's amazing potential.

I think I posted it before, but this is my vision of a Squad Leader

The CS have rules they must follow, and frankly, even for someone who rarely posts on this board, there is so little going on in this profession that nothing is a "scoop" that MUST be annunced with great fanfare. Now, if there were active developmet of the SL profession in progress, then I would expect more communication from a CS, but things are still (still!) coasting. Relax.

I would toss my name into the hat to test, but I do not havea history of posting here. I spend much of my forums time on other boards. I have been a SL for a few months now, and just re-rolled to try a new species (Mon Cal aint much of a fighter). I've been pretty vocal on the forums, and also played on Test Center for about 4 months in the beginning of the game. I have high expectations for the Dev's, and let them know of it, hehehe. I have never spent any significant time as a factioned player, as I do not PvP. I would be willing to be the Neutral/Support type...my current template target is MSL/0000 Doc/ 0000 CM/ 0000 Pistoleer. I am able to play virtually every day in the late morning or late evening till the early AM.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

My Paragraph:

I have been rather quiet on this forum just checking in from time to time. Basically my posting career(see post count) was seriously derailed when my work instituted a policy of "only work" related web-sites. I however feel I would be a valuable tester for the sandbox. I am very interested in helping SLs along as a profession and providing valuable feedback to teh Devs to truly help make our class one that helps define "synergy" among combat groups. In game I have mastered SL twice, once for the badge and again when they reduced BH reqs. And for my guild I provide a valued seasoned hand when leading in combat. Everyone in my guild has realized how valuable MSLs are and are extremely happy when one is leading because of it. Out of game I was theonly person who asked the Devs questions about SL at the Hybrid Conference at Fanfest. I would work hard and would be wiling to alter my template to test out different aspects to suit testing needs.

Hey, Irott - thanks for the clarification. I didn't mean to imply that there was anything shady going on. I had just noticed the topic coming up in a few other forums and wanted to make sure we weren't in the early stages of getting boned again. I knew you'd be on top of it.

As a professional software engineer, I fully understand the process and appreciate the value of quality testing. I've been fairly active on this board since the beginning days of Captain Vemnox. My main is still a Master Squad Leader (*cough* irott ) on Tarquinas. I spoke with the Devs at Fan Fest about their plans for Squad Leader and the Combat Revamp and would be extremely excited and honored to be a part of the early system testing. With as much knowledge and dedication to our profession as anyone else, I know I would make an excellect addition to your testing team.

I'ld love to get in on this testing, too. Like Influentza, I'm a professional Software Engineer for a Medical Device company with both Development & Testing experience. I do User Interface & Graphics programming for a Medical Device company, so I think I have some relative knowledge & skills to bring to the table.

I'm currently a 3134 SL, dropped master just this weekend to pick up more Carbine skills from BH.
