What do you want to do for PvP.

if you want to be an uber god... no.

If you want to help your squad, yes.

Remember Publish 24 isn't out yet. Right now we're still stuck with the same broken stuff that only has a few things that work. I think everyone who wants to be this profession that hasn't played SL should remember that.

Again, what I've said to a couple people now. If you wanna be good at pvp go pick up Doc/Swords or Carbine/BH. If you want to be a Squad Leader then pick up Squad Leader. It's not about personal benefit, it's about helping those around you with good leadership and abilitiesbenefitting theentire group.

Let's see, my personal SL experiences:

My guild always wants me around when they PvP, although my duel/PvP abilities are mediocre and my equipment status is only medium.

I belong to the "last man standing" when we got overrun because my group is usally keeping me healed no matter how bad I PvP, sometimes even at their own expense.

Even when Im not leading the group, my guild wants almost every decision to be confirmed by me.

Since Jedi tend to attack other Jedi first Im not a priority target (only other SL tend to target SL first).

I can be the lazy **edit** in the PvP group and have a reason to stay in the back because rally has a warmup.

I can put nice colored /sys msg on the screen of my groupmates.

Areashots from behind into melee PvP crowds is like PvPrating farming

I think yes, SL fits pretty good in PvP ...

btw.
my playstyle is 25% PvE, 25% PvP, 25 %Socializing and 25% chatting/running my guild.

Also, SL's tend to use their other professions as support along side their SL commands. While I'm keeping my group together and useing the commands, I'm also healing and useing abilities like full auto area or suppressing fire and whatever els I can use like KD and such to ease the load on my team. You might not have the best stats or gear but you forget about that in all the action. With the right build and tools you can hold your own, and you'l be even more dangerous when you use your team.

Right now i'm master sl, master carbs and bh 0 4 0 4. Pretty good template I find as long as you are in a group with some healers. Since you have no healing you will fall pretty fast. Going to pick up some of that chef food that makes you able to spam stims though.

Usually though i'm rooted and taken out quickly, the enemy is smart and will remove the ranged from battle first.

I'm a very similar build as MailekEOC. It's real fun, and as long as there are healers in the group and I'm using Ruby Bliel with Stims I can hold up for a long time. Though I to have noticed that in PvP it's shifting from jedi attacking jedi to jedi taking out the ranged/healers first then bothering with the other jedi.

I have actually changed my template, for better combat. Kept MSL though. Thus far I enjoy it, I just need to work up Rifleman to finish it off, hopefully Friday I'll have it. But, I still am the same AlienEntity you all know and love.

Oh yeah, just need to get to learn the abilities. But thus far I've been using HeadShot and another skill. Just need to go hunting to get the experience.
