I'm curious how many of you are seeing new squad leaders on your servers. I'm not talking about vets trying it out because of the publish or alts created by people unlocking jedi. I mean your true newbie running around Mos Eisley and such wearing the novice squad leader or other SL-granted tag with that vaguely lost look as they learn the game. I've seen quite a few here on Valcyn and have been wondering how many are popping up elsewhere. I always /cheer for them when I see them which sometimes gets me some confused looks. BTW, /salute to those who have recently joined us!

ya, just Mastered a few weeks back as ya know. Totaly enjoying it. though disapointed that the only thing at master was armor Mit. meh, I hope in the publish they toss the HIGH end buffs up in master think about it, gives a reason to get to master, also spread some of them in each of the 4th blocks.

just thoughts.

oh ya, Farstar Euro server btw,

And I'm Imperial if your curious.

template is

Mas Squadleader Carbineer 0.3.0.0 Pistols 0.0.0.2, Going for for a row in pikeman soon ( course will take away from my hunting tre in scout) to have just the area affect of that. over all I'm enjoying things.

Getting ready to livin things up with Ibrahim (non SL skill, but knowledge trainer still for combat).

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I've dropped a profession that I've had for the longest time. My BH template, personally lost the taste of being a BH. With all the focus on Jedi and all of it. Just grinded out Squad Leader for group PVE and PVP. Plus the new changes don't hurt if they work correctly

I saw alot a few weeks ago, then when the ranger notes came out, not soo much. As long as I still see some familiar SL faces around then I wont worry much about it.

Yes, Im a new SL, hope to get master this weekend or next, depending on how many groups I can get to go hunting this week. Just have 4 more boxes to get including master. Takes tons of combat exp to get though, but still hopeful.

I see a few new ones now and then, some I'm sure are new players (to the game) , some older players trying a different route , and some have the definate feel of an SL alt-bot

To be honest, even before the notes on our revamp hit I was seeing quite a few other SL's (novice levels and masters) quite a bit on Bloodfin. The numbers have stayed pretty constant since the revamp news, too. Of course, it helps that my guild's based on Dantooine and I see all sorts of toons at the MO when I go traveling.

Heck, had another Master SL snake a gurk king kill out from under me one night shortly after the news hit. lol I would have gotten mad, but it was another SL, and it was my own mistake for using a low-damage weapon. You live, you learn.

New Squad Leader alt here.

Seems like a pretty kick @ss profession. Really enjoying it at the moment.

Seems the new publish will make it even more appealing.

A general comment that I have, I'm not against new people coming to this profession TO much, but I do find it funny that people for the longest time have said that our profession was worthless and pointless. And if we were in a group, the wouldn't let us lead. Now, everyone's finding out the truth of why we have consistantly stuck with the profession. It's pretty annoying that people think that and to a point, I can see why many wouldn't want to play SL. Damaged and healing compared to a say MRifleman/MBH/CM 4000 but a lot of people sell SL short. They say that the 15% damage increase from Volley Fire isn't useful and they'd rather fill our slot with a Jedi. Now a lot of people are seeing that we don't suck.

I know it may sound like I'm saying that Squad Leader is better than any other profession, but I'm not. We SL's currently have a lot of stuff that's not working properly and we as anyone will admit is the least looked at profession, but even for those reasons I have enjoyed every minute of SL and everytime I say I may leave the profession, I can never find one that I like as much as I love SL.

Well, that's my 2 cents, Grati, you're the one who brought this post on, but I will say welcome to the profession.

For all those who are new to the profession, the veterans here and even some of the new players to the profession have tried to keep this board a sort of family. Yes, the board has gotten heated and I'm talking even before pre-publish 24 info came into being. Please keep it family. That's the only thing that this newbie/vet requests of you all. Keep it friendly keep it fun and help each other out. I don't want to see this cool profession going the way of BH vs Jedi. We're better than that and I know it.

just grinding my new toon up to msl mpistols for group pve. old toon is mbh mcm, used to be nice being the rezzer on group missions but we got several mdocs & mcms now.

we've gota great group when we go out and a great guild leader who we all admire. he'll be our group leader when we go on missions, i see my new toon as more in charge of squad tactics, keeping the team alive and checking on who's taking hits or is in troubleand acting as a force/firepower multiplier leaving our group leader free to think about the strategic issues to get us through the mission.

hope to meet some meet a few of the veteran SLs on chimaera when i've finished my grind

/salute

I tend to be in the same situation with my guild, especially going to places like the corvette or the DWB.. A lot of these guys have been playing since launch or close enough. This means I get to sit back and watch/learn so I can take notes from the old hands
