Thread: Positve vs. Negative
Hey guys,
As we all know Cpt V is gone. As sad as this is, I think we need to move forward. We're at a crossroads here, and we as a profession can do one of two things. Either A) we yell, scream, cry, whine, and complain about everything, or B) we start taking a more positive, "be part of the solution, not the problem" approach. I've though about it today, and I'm sticking with this profession for a while, and that being the case, I'd like to see us/rally togetherin a POSITIVE, CONSTRUCTIVE way. I know thatthere are a few like me (ob194, OmegusNeo to name a couple) And I'd bet the rest of you do too. I challenge each of you to to do something. Stop responding to the crybabies about the profession. They are there, and yes, to an extent we all have good reason to complain. But it's our ability to NOT complain that makes us what we are. Squad Leaders. Mabye not in abilities, mabye only in title, but also in spirit. You have my pledge that I for one will no longer get into squabbling debates that are counter productive, and childish. Thank youin advance to those of you that take up this torch with me.
agreed,
arguing over hows fault it was, or demanding TH resignation is not going to solve anything or get our prfession fixed
we need to let things go and just move on, band together as a comunity and continue to push until the DEVsstart listening to us

Whining can be bad. It can also be productive (it has shown results in this very game.) Positivity can be good. It can also be counter-productive. I agree we could all really shore up our attitudes here and try to stay focused on what our goals are. I don't think any particular attitude should be acceptable or unacceptable as long as it is moving toward the same goal: Improving Squad Leader. This community needs to come together. We are unfortunately losing another large group of our old Masters. Its a crying shame that so few of us are left. Don't get me wrong. We have some great new posters. But just imagine if all the people from the before time, in the way back, were to be posting as well. This profession will survive but if everyone leaves it will take us more time to rebuild. We need all the attitudes to come together to get some changes made to this prof. If they made volleyfire do more damage, if rally gave a better to-hit and never failed...would anything be fixed? No, we'd be almost exactly where we were before. We need to get some changes made.
I agree with you, and I also suggest that we start giving the DEVs more realistic goals. Yes, we probably deserve most of the things we're asking for, but first thing's first. Let them fix what we do have, then we can give them suggestions as to what we should have. You can read my post about this on page four of Thunderheart's Top 5 thread.
I will be mastering fairly soon, and I'll be damned if I'm quitting once I get it. I've vowed to myself to stick with Squad Leader at LEAST until the space expansion.
i agree Ham cost and falure rates should be close to number one but definatly in top 5
also change boost moral to work with damage and not wounds

Can we all agree that the HAM costs, and fail rate problems should be the first issues? Those would be relatively quick, easy fixes that would be a start. I'm not saying this is ALL that's wrong. I'm just saying it's a good place to start.
I agree, fail rate and HAM costs should be the first issues. The fail rate should be no more than 10% and the HAM costs should be based on group size, with the maximum being what it is now with a full group, and removing 5% with each less person in the group. But those numbers are just my opinion :-)
Second should be a fix for Volleyfire working with all the weapons, and change the /boostmorale to spread damage and not wounds.
