Thread: Least played profession!

This was back a few posts...but Blackferne is right. The devs just don't know what to do with us, and it's been that way ever since live. Back in the day, people would beg to be a part of my group just for the terrain negotiation. Mounts and speeders did away with that (not that I don't want speeders now). It used to be rare because SL's lose so many SP to be support and obviously aren't as combat capable as those that invest 250 SP in all combat professions. I've never minded, and I always thought that with the CU I was actually part of the group. As long as I am in a group, my damage and tanking ability are good. Even the *gulp* jedi I group with appreciate me helping them. Doctors or CM's are a support profession, but they also help themselves. SLs will always help the group. I will always help the group. Without them, I'm just like everyone else.

Well if you canty get top billing you want last. Cant help but notice us way down there on that list. So maybe being dead last will get some of the devs looing at our prof.

There is no newb squad leader. Only a junior officer.

Anyways, welcome on the team.

I actually brag about being an SL in real life. Any SWG gamer that comes into where I work (Gamestop) is astonished that there is actual squad leaders, not to mention a 2 year SL veteran. I lead troops, its what i like to do. and you can ask any guildee, two things in SWG with me are constant....One is Squad Leader. (Funny story, they wanted me to be a jedi....I asked if I could just get the glowstick and keep MSL =D ) And the other is being a former clone commando, but thats a different task and story all together. And for those that claim we are useless.....we are, but we can still make that little bit of a difference that goes a long way. My guild does tons of Necrosis runs.....They love it when I am there, A) cuz I hit harder then most Jedi and B) They don't have to worry as much do to the bonuses, we cut him down and the jedi lives about 2 seconds longer then usual =D. Anyway, All I want from SOE for Christmas, New Years, my Birthday, and Wedding Gift, is my profession fixed...

I get Invited to groups as a damage dealer more then a squad leader.....and I use a STOCK DC15 carbine........ /sigh.

Bugged? Actually we're almost bug-free... the only real bug is that sometimes the passive modifiers don't work when you become leader via /makeleader. You can claim that steadyaim is bugged, as the effect is contraproductive, but it's not a bug in the classical sense any more.

We have several abilities which give too low bonuses, have too high costs or have effects which are not really worth using any more after the CU. We have numerous issues and could use a good deal of tuning and improvements to be able to stand up to our potential. But compared to other professions, the few abilities we have are actually mostly free of bugs. (Reminds me, i for quite some time haven't heard of rally not being applied to a part of the team any more... does nobody bother to report it any more, or doesn't it happen any more? Might be a coicidence, but i also didn't get the "out of range" message for an entertainer since some time, perhaps our guess was right, that the problem with determining the range to another player was also affecting rally at that time?)

That is pretty true. The CU did good for us in that respect. Rally is the most popular thing people I know like about SLs. Unfortunately, it has brought a few of the riffraff into the profession that aren't really there to be leaders. *shrug* Can't make everyone happy I guess.
