i was MSL on my main before i unlocked and am MSL on my alt. Its amazing we are the least played prof when we are so necessary in GCW base take downs.

Here's hoping our up-coming fixes make us desirable to groups

I think there should be fewer SLs than not because if you think about it, everyone can master 2 professions and that means in a maxed out group of 8 there should be 16 masteries. 1/16th of a group should be SL then.

But DiLune is right, we should have more for our skill points. But I really think the Devs just don't know what to do with us and the more organized we are with what we want the better off we'd be.

Actually i'd go so far and say that SL makes sense to be included in aprox. 10% of all fighting characters, probably even less. There are still solo players around, just for a start. Also, the positive on this is, up to now i only twice had to step back in team, as the first leader of team already was an SL. (And one time i really had to tell a new member of a random hunting group that i will continue leading but i'm happy to train him up to MSL... was a nice experience. Also, due to this i don't want us to switch back to SL-exp,in the old system i would have had to let him lead to gain SL-exp while the team getsless on bonuses. Suboptimal for the team. )

Anyways, we're definitely a good deal below treshold, the current system could easily take a significant increase of SL characters without a problem. So i just can agree with the posters before me, making the profession more attractive would really be worth it.

LS 4004, Enh 4003, Master healer, Defender 0042 here.

And a MSquadleader, MCarbineer, CM 4000, Medic 0410 lol.

Yah, I can actually. I have a MDancer on another server who's in a Entertainer's guild. 99%+ of the guild are entertainers in one of the forms.

Heh, well, I was actually glad to have that player take notice of me and notice that I was MSL, but since we as a profession are only in cities to pick up items, and always out in the field doing something, of course they (devs and players) don't know we exist. I think the devs just check who's "in town" and see crafters, entertainers and even seeing a BH in an npc city is common, that's where they get their missions. For us, the bigger cities have hidden faction terminals and then we're off again or engaged in pvp out in some player city or such. We have no specific terminals other than faction ones (at least for those of us who are in a faction to go along with what we see as what an SL is). Faction orieented.

Getting to the head spinning math, it's good information. I'm glad to know what some of our stuff actually does. But you give that mathematical breakdown to a player and they'll be like whatever. I actually have our benefits on a hunting macro whenever I look to hunt, which isn't very often. Grinding gets soooooooo old after a while and everyone wants their precious crapi...I mean jedi. Right now, I'm looking for a group that I can play with and have them let me be of use rather than just another body to get them xp faster. Anyways, for all of us MSL's use your MSL tags when you can, let those people out there know we exist! It's the only way we can survive.

I agree that SL is the bottum of the list, but what is up with CH being above jedi? That listshows more people have CH than any one jedi mastery.

Its because of the recent CH changes.

and its because they split jedi into the different branches to make it less obvious that jedi are the most common played profession.

This is also very likely. Splitting Jedi professions... sneaky!

I just want to know when this survey was taken! lol More times than I can count, I've seen either novice or master SL's running around the MO on Dantooine when I'm off to do my own running around (still trying to get a @!#$ Black Sun Ace Helmet lol). In fact, Saturday night I was just starting to take down a reclusive gurk king in the hopes of getting some hide for our guild's armorsmith when another Master SL came along and snaked the kill out from under me! rofl That's what I get for not using my nice little E5 carbine on the kill, was taking my time with the geo-looking carbine you get from Etyyy. We had a nice little chat afterwards though, discussing a lot of the same stuff that's been mentioned here about possible improvements. So don't let the stats fool or bother you too much, WAY back in high school my probability/statistics teacher said right off the bat, "You can make statistics say ANYTHING you want, so don't trust them too much." Or something to that effect.

I would say, there never was a survey. Why putting up the effort if you can find out the numbers by a small SQL (semantic query language, not squad leader) statement. A small select statement over the skill-entries of all players, crossconnected to the id-number of all coded skills and the sum function used on it. Sort ascending by the sum field and you have what they showed us. Very little work for somebody who's halfway experienced in working on and with a database.

If the player file also holds a "last login" entry, which i consider quite likely, the evaluation would even be more helpful. Limit it to those characters which were logged in during the last one or two weeks and you have it reduced to only the active accounts. (Would reduce numbers a lot, but since it's just ranking without given numbers, this wouldn't matter.)

Unfortunately i guess that the ranking we see was done without time limit, removing unplayed alts and zombies would perhaps shift the order a little bit.
