I wouldn't see it as an advantage. If your pistoleer/squadleader and you get into a fight with someone else who's spent their points towards Pistoleer/bounty hunter... Who's going to have the advantage? Even if you have 3 faction pets out I don't know that I would put my money on you.

How would having three faction pets NOT give you an advantage over someone with three faction pets?

By that same logic, a pistoleer/talor should be more powerfull than a pistoleer, because they spent more skill points.

Let it die. The origional idea will never get pushed through, and your arguments are only making it worse.

Those who have higher Faction rank should be allowed to have 3 Faction Soldiers, period...

A Pistoleer is good with a Pistol

A Squad Leader brings the BEST out in Other People... He takes their talents, and makes them better at what they do

swift, thats the point. rank is good. but SL's should be allowed to have MORE than what you can have at given rank.

Say, rank1 any player can have only 1 troop out. SL can have 3. Rank 2, have 4, SL has 5. . aka, rank# = # of pets non SL's can call, Rank#+2 = # ofpets SL can call out.

advantage of an SL with 3 faction pets over someone who has nofaction pets? The one with no faction pets has skill points not spent on SL but onother proffessions. Its that simple. The non-SL is actually at an advantage vs an SL now.

Most PvP battles before this patch had people gunning for other players first and ignoring the faction pets...the player is far, far more dangerous. So its no real advantage. But the faction pets are USEFUL.

And you need to payfor them in faction points.. be it imperial or rebel or jabba orcorsec or nym, etc etc etc. SL's may become smuggler's best friends to buy faction points from (or to sell to).. sotheres an economy improvement right there too.

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

Please, read up a fiew posts before you repost the same dribble that has been proven ignorant time and time again.

I'll refrase it for you:

Lets say you have two charecters, a pistoleer/tailor and a pistoleer/SL.

Both people spent near equal skill points, and neither tailor nor SL should or do give benifits to solo play. With your system of faction pets, the pistoleer/SL is stronger in solo play.

I think it would be pretty cool if SL's could talk to Jabba, a CorSec General, or something like that and recruit NPC troopers.

Another idea: let SL's build their own trooper kinda like howa BE makes creatures. Walk up to a SL terminal, customize their appearance etc., determine what profession you want them to be (pistoleer, brawler, swordsman, rifleman, etc.) give the finished troopersweapons and armor of your choosing that they are capable of using.

Grouping with these troopers shouldn't give you SL xp.

"Both people spent near equal skill points, and neither tailor nor SL should or do give benifits to solo play. With your system of faction pets, the pistoleer/SL is stronger in solo play."

Why not make Squad Leaders competent in both solo play and group play? Technically, you are not solo if you are grouped with pets anyways.

So now we are god in addition to pet commanders?

Replying to the initial post: I actually suggested this back on the beta boards and more recently when we were having troubles with overpowered Faction pets running around. However, I'd add a caveat to balance it - while only SLs should have access to Factional pets they'd not only spend FPs to get the pet but LOSE FPs if the pet died in combat. The bigger the pet, the bigger the hit. It would reflect the reality of command not appreciating losing valuable assets in combat while also forcing players to fight smarter and pick better engagements or tactics. So an SL would be able to flesh out a squad with NPCs or solo missions or even adventures BUT they'd also be spending FPs hand over fist if they didn't do so wisely and with good player character support from medics and other specialists.

"So now we are god in addition to pet commanders?"

Are you god when you whip a mount out of your datapad? Are you god when you pull a speederbike out of your back pocket? How about an AT-ST, are you god when you can whip one of those out of your backpack?

I'm not saying you genetically engineer soldiers.....I'm saying you go to someone like Jabba or a CorSec General and specify what type of soldiers you want....you provide the equipment and armor etc. Whether this is done at a terminal or an NPC it doesn't really matter, thats completely superficial.

"Obviously you missed that. No big suprise."

Lose the attitude. Its not helping anything.

The best option we should get thats even related to this topic, is a reduced cost for faction pets... or being able to have more pets at a lower rank.

Everyone should be able to attain faction pets... and rank is the best way to rate how many you get.
