Thread: here's why we dont get any love
These are pre-CU applications. I haven't seen enough woulds post-CU(except on new pilots) to make use of Boost Morale, and as mentioned above a Retreat macro will kill your action very very quickly. Only time I use it is if the group is spread out over a very large area to help regrouping, and once when a low CL character had aggro'ed alot of stuff.

3)Boost Morale, when a TKM is meditating a Squad Leader can use this ability to take away wounds from other members of the group, the TKM can then meditate them away. Great for pvping, for when you dont have a healer or doctor in your group, or if your way out in the middle of no where.
7)Retreat. This is the second best ability a SL has. Gives the entire group a burst run. A macro can be set up so the group has non stop burst run. This is usefull for looting, getting past hard areas to get loot, and my favorite, killing noob jedi XP camping on kashyyk. You get in, get out before anyone knows, plus you run so fast the npc's cant keep up with you. Burst run is also nice to have on Bounty Hunting missions where the jedi has force run.
Can also be used for hunting big game like krayts when you need to get the group out of danger.

if your using formup in pvp and its working the state was probally laid on your team by those pesky faction npcs. of course this is mr positive speaking again, but as an imp formup has become one of my most frequently used specials in pvp, those darn rebel npc love to lay some dizzy.
And we are all VERY glad to have this special that cures our team fro the occasional random dizzy shot in by the rare NPC that shows up while in PVP. We would be even MORE glad if stats actually affected so that healing the state meant more than just clearing a particle affect. ![]()
in any base engagement the rebel npcs are actually giving us a good go, they respawn every 5 minutes and they are allspamming dizzy stun and kd like crazy, the opposition finds this a great time to rush us.formup seems to be handy.

I didn't disagree with you there. I pointed out that right now with them only being particle effects, and not actually affecting the player stats....all youare doing in clearing an annoying particle annimation on the screen. Their abilities are not affected or fixed by your use of the command. Now this will change when they finally get this fixed. Many are anticipating that as stun reduced action regen, and anyone with a a stun attack will be doing rather well in PVP. Sadly, that means that PCs will be using it on our groups as well, and with the devs removing the ability to clear it in PVP....youll be clearing ti by the NPCs only to not be able to clear it from the shots from the other players.

Well, the search feature is busted so I can't find the posts I need, but I know stun is for action regen, and I thought reduced accuracy was from being blind...after all...you are blind...so I dont see (

"Every game I've played I've been in one way or another an SL" Must be my long lost brother. In every game, from pub servers to ladder, thats always been my role. While everyone els is going rambo and padding their stats, I'm trying to get my team the win. If that means I dont fire one shot and just support my team with what ever they need, then thats what I'm doing. Getting a little difficult to do that on here lately, since it seems whe're used for little more then the equivilent of a couple of skill enhancing attachments at times.
Forunatly theres a couple groups of pvpers I run into somtimes that take advantage of every profession they can round up but on the norm, its just a spam fight with no real cohesion.
I recently returned to SWG after several months away. I was one of the first few SL's on Starsider. Anyways, to sum up why we "dont get any love" ... I have been in a few parties since my returned, and not only had to ask to be put as leader ( while explaining exactly why I should be leader ) .. but I had many people ask "What is squad leader?". There are people out there that seriously do not know the class exists.
The fundamental problem is that in SWG people want their characters to have solo viability. If we want our profession to truly shine, we have to sacrafice any hope at solo'ing effectively in exchange for some multiplayer dominance. Rework our passive bonuses so that they are percentile based on the number of people in your group. The more people you lead, the more powerful you and your party become. A leader is nothing without his troops, and in reverse, a group of skilled people could never reach their maximum potential without a good leader.
