Thread: Base Slicing Guide Version 1.1

I wouldn't be surprised if a Ranger won't be required for some part of base killing once their revamp goes live.
Uh... Ranger currently is not required. I guess you rather wanted to say, you wouldn't be surprised if Ranger would be required... *smile*
Anyways, i wouldn't complain about that, in case that Ranger would replace Bio Engineer for the slicing. This would allow me to drop my Novice BE and invest those skillpoints into anything else. (Preferably Ranger then...)
Ah ... I like the BE requirement around.
Its fun to have some girls around while base busting ...
Hehe... the girls i have along usually pack big guns and i have to do the BE part...
I like to play with multiple mix profession more than with a base buster template.
Define "base buster template", i am doing all and everything with the same char, be it questing on kashyyyk, doing space missions, gathering hides, or busting bases. But since BEs are scarce and usually unwilling to go into battle (no surprise, the BEs i know usually have CLs below 10) i decided to pick up that slice myself. (Actually, the most rewarding of all slices around...)
My most favourit MBE (btw. in case nobody knew so far, as a MBE you get 8samples rather than 3) is pretty cool and in a allied guild.
And even then, you have to teach the people how to use those samples. I personally know how to do double and tripple matches, but despite trying hard, i failed to make others understand how it works. (At some timewe gave other guilds a bit of "base busting for beginners" tour, they told us what bases they wanted to be taken down, they brought whatever professionsthey had for basebusting, we filled in on the professions they lacked. BE and SL were the ones which almost always were not present in those guilds, followed by commando... worst case, was that all they had was BH, but of those they were able to bring a dozen... being diplomatical, we helped the guild bust the bases, but didn't care much for instructing them any more, there simply is a limit on how low we can go... )
Anyways, especially since i want my char to stay the allrounder and not be a basebuster only, he'll never progress beyond the novice BE.
And as a last sidenote, feelings are a tiny bit mixed, though. I really would love to be able to drop BE... on the other hand, i feel that the BE slice is actually the best of all slices involved. (Despite only having 3 samples..) It serves the purpose to bind the team for a while and cover the slicer and the slice needs a bit more of brain and understanding (especially if you want to do it quick and try to get more than one match at a time) than some other slices. The SL "slice" is the most disappointing of all, hitting a switch and done, pretty boring. ![]()
So, i actually wonder, if BE slicers are replaced by rangers, would the rangers then keep the interesting BE slice? Despite little logic, i would fully vote for that.

Ah.. sylow that wasnt directed against you, but on Ahazi a lot of ppl use base buster toons with all needed requirements on one char (usually including feign death as last resort if the fighters get introuble amd cant protect the base buster anymore). Its more fun having the slices spread around different ppl thats all, it requires more teamwork

Yepp I know that during my prominet and very active base busting times but only cloning experiences in PvP the big PvPs started to show up in my overt PvE base busting attempts and it was funny to see how little they knew about base slicing and bases.
I had to talk once one through the BE slices without ever seeing a BE terminal, but my MBE, LOL, she's fast!
We were once around, while we had one of those hardcore PvPs on a basebuster template (that was his thirds BE slice) when the group got under attack (it was a overt sneak attack on a PvE base, knewing that some Overts might come out and play). She immediatly showed up on Ventrilo and said that multiple BEs are possible to slice one terminal, so in case one gets under attack the other would be still able to continue (they cant combine their efforts, they just work parallel to each other). Her comment on ventrilo was: "Race ya!" (Texas Cowgirl btw).

Activate overload at primary terminal (requires Novice Squad Leader) This is just a radial option off the Imperial HQ terminal. Its so easy.
