Question; is it entirely important I go fair in pistols for marksmen to Level out squad leader? or Can I just leave it at box 1.
Also, besides bounty hunter, what's another good prof match?
no, you do not need to take any boxes in pistols, whether Pistoleer or Marksman to level SL
/poke Darthsushi
*sigh*
second answer: Carbine is good all around, Pistols give slightly better defences, Rifles give better firepower, CM or Doc is pure support, but always valuable to your squad.

haha! thought so. that's the little trick I've figured on my own. most amusing though still cause I can now pick a pistol close to my level 9 not much leveling or thought ot it). Old system you got penulties to use it, in this system, you just can't use unless correct level. kinda of sounds like an award way of doing things to me.
what I would like to try is going Commando. thinking if I got the skil points that would help out the group (and me). I'm just wondering if that combo is possible. I haven't done the sp calculating yet.

Combining SL and Commando is possible, by the pure calculation of skillpoints. Though, i dare to remind you on the nature of Commando, it enhances the special attacks you already have by giving them an area of effect instead of applying them to a single target. The weapons of a Commando by themselves are not powerful, right at the moment they are also considered to be broken and thus not helpful in actual damage dealing.
Thus, if used correctly, the commando even now is quite a nice profession, AoE snare, root, knockdown... the best combo are the mezzes from the smuggler, as far as i was able to observe, but using that with commando weapons requires a skilled player. But to return to the SL/Commando combo, you unfortunately have to find out that neither of those two profession gives you any special attack. You gain some abilities from SL, but neither of them profits from the commando weapons. (Or viewed from the other side, the Commando weapons don't get the necessary enhancement to be effective and worth to be used by any SL ability.)
Thus the combination unfortunately is a very weak one. The combo "SL/Commando" sounds powerful when speaking it, but in game mechanics it's a loosing one.
ya, was lurkin the commando forums and gotthe just of it too.
My favourite quote lately is when told this or that is broken proffession; "So is the rest of the game, but we all still play it."Until the Dev's get around to figuring out what they are actualy doing instead of the mess being loaded up to us, I'm working with what's patched too us.
Other part is deturmining how I actualy want to play a MSL (which I plan to be). Pistols is nice and all. but from what I have experienced it's not my cup of tea. as a SL I'd rather be in the middle of things, So carbines/ sword/fencer would be helpfull.
my background sence playing this game was little combat ALOT of crafting. So this is a nice change of pace.
Ever sence I'veset myself up/became a SL novice, I've actualy seen other SL's in the field where as before I didn't see many.
But Saturday I was lucky enough to pull a 12 hour play session, mostly in the Dantooine Mining Outpost grinding FS XP. I saw over 10 just on saturday, and at least 4 of them were Masters. Is there something I'm missing? Why the sudden influx? Or have we always been there, and I just never ran into them?

Friday feature. Some people decided they want to be something really rare and made SLs. Some just want to show that the profession is not dead and suddenly display it. (I had my Commissar up since months, only now switched to MSL... most people don't know what Commissar is connected with, only see that it's a cool title...)
Otherwhise, a coicidence, but i really think that the friday feature plays into it. Time will tell if it has some lasting effects and we really get more. ![]()

there was a friday feature? neat. Naw I just picked it cause it wasn't crafter, and I know alot of people that hunt in groups (duh). I like playing a supporting roll of some sort. So this would be efficent. that and I'd be somwhere in the middle of combat. from what I've seen though would be nice to have some little extras we could do in the field ( or even in space). just a thought.
I'm still trying to figure out /sysgroup. is there a short cut for it? like /gu? or am I goina have to make a alias for it?
but better make some aliases and color them and save them in a file
/alias rr /sys \#FF0000\
\#ff0000 = red
\#000000 = black
\#00FF00 = green
\#FFFF00 = yellow
\#0000FF = blue
\#00FFFF = light blue
\#FF00FF = purple

I'm an upcoming Squad Leader on Eclipse. I just would look around and not see many or any Squad Leaders, I figured I'd love to try something and see why so little people are SL.
It's because Squad Leaders get all the girls...since there are not that many girls playing SWG we have to keep our numbers short to keep things working out fine... *grin*
And except that, many people still think that SL is useless, many just want to power up their own character and thus don't see what SL can give to a team. Can't be helped, they will understand our power only when it's too late for them...
