Umm...500 going way up to 1000 when you used to get 20,000 for the same mob...hello? You used to get xp based on personal xp x group size (short form) now you get xp based on production of other people in the group. If you get 2000 combat xp for an extremely hard fought battle you are still getting 1/10th of what you used to but still need to earn all of what you used to. SL got a serious shaft today. How many PCs have gone from novice to master while grouping exclusively with you to get their xp. That's what is happening. You need 10 people to earn enough xp to go from novice to master while grouped only with you for all their xp. INSANE!
Understand I am conceding that you get significantly less than you did before. At least half less, and in many cases 1/4th or less as much (the 2 person, 2 pet group example). But if you were getting 20,000 for a mob that you will now get 2,000 for, you were essentially exploiting. Yes, you could powerlevel before by getting a group of 20 together and then proceed to solo kill the mob (with pets and poisons and bleeds allowed since these don'tleech yourweapons exp). But to do this, the rest of the PC squad had to stand around and do nothing (except poison and bleed). Now I have to ask - should that be a valid way to get squad leader exp? I don't think so. Now it's truly based on squad performance rather than personal performance and squad size. Now, to increase your squad leader exp, you have to increase your squad performance. The more stuff the squad kills, the more squad leader exp you get. This makes far more sense.
Do I agree that the new formula causes gain to be too slow? Yes
Do I think that the squad leader combat exp should be included in the calculation? Probably
Do I think a fix to all the broken abilities is more important? Yes
Do I think that theidea behind the change is wrong? Not at all
This new xp is terrible. I am Master Doc/ 4004 SL. I got more SL xp when it was my pistol bodyshot1 vs them, than when it's a squad of 20 vs tuskens for 4 hours.
Very displeased.

It was said earlier that these changes are far from stable and that we have made a good shout as to our distaste to the next exp calculations.
I have been a SL for 2 days.... And indeed these two days have been night and day, blissful joy and helping my team and and helping them fight... NOW i have to tie my hands behind my back when in battle just to maxamize my experience.
There is no way that the Devs can see the logic in having players intentionally do Nothing in battle in order to get More exp...
/shout Great Hunting group starting, plz send tell...btw NO PETS PLZ and iWON"T fire my own weapon... send tell!!!!!
i have fallen on the thorns of life. i bleed.
I'm sorry, I haven't been an SL for very long... maybe a couple weeks or so.
My SL xp seemed to be based on the following calculation prepatch: weapon xp * .5* number of players in the group.
Meaning if I was in a group with another person, and 3 pets, or two pets, or no pets, and got 1900 pistol xp, I got 1900 SL xp. If it was just me and my pets, I got 950 SL xp. I watched the numbers, and that's what it equalled out to for me. I could be totally wrong, and I accept that.
Tonight, while grouped with 2 people and 4 pets, I received appx 1900 pistol xp for a mob and217 SL xp.
This is more than half. Try 1/4th. At this rate, I'll get a box every month or so.
Thunderheart claims it is being fixed on test center.
We'll see.
Well I think the patch is good, but needs to be modified. If a player is capped on combat xp then SL should still get the XP points regardless of what the player gets.
Also it needs to include the Squad Leader, afterall he/she is part of the Squad.
These will put the focus on what a squad leader should do. Run a squad and keep the squad safe and functioning.

I love the thought of SL, I can't stand all these sub-par developments that just keep on making it worse.
I am resolved to standing firm in my decision to be one, regardless of consequences.
