Since CaptainVemnox is not online right now, I just thought I'd let you guys know that he did make a Top Five Issues post on Correspondent Forum for you guys recently. Like you guys, he thought that it was hard to break down your problems into five issues, but he did it anyway. I'm sure he'll repost those issues here when he gets back online.

I don't know why Thunderheart is asking for new issues, but I wanted to make sure you guys knew that the Captain was working very hard for Squad Leaders. I haven't seen a more dedicated Correspondent than him ... he's always posting about SL concerns on every thread he can. I think the Devs are speeding up their work on SL just to keep him quiet. hehe

I'm not even going to reply to this thread other than thanking Philosopher for coming here and saying exactly what he did. TH asked me for the Top 5 frommy recent report, I stated there was no just Top 5, TH said he wanted a top 5 anyways, so I gave him a Top 5 list. Now why this is even posted here boggles my mind, as the information we've been asked for has been given upteen times.

Thank you again Phil.

The top five issues in my opinion are:

1. We have received NO DEV response to Captains reports.

2. We have received NO DEV response to Captains reports.

3. We have received NO DEV response to Captains reports.

4. We have received NO DEV response to Captains reports.

5. We have received NO DEV response to Captains reports.

Three months, three reports and no responses. READ THE CAPTAINS REPORT AND RESPOND TO US!!

Why is a working profession like CH receiving any attention and we are being completely ignored?

But I will ask this, if you can't fix the functionality of SL anytime soon, at least change our titles. LOL.

Yes, odd request I know, but when I say "Master Squad Leader"... and "Field Commander"... which sounds more senior to you?? This should be treated like Pistoleer. It's not Master Pistoleer, it's Master Gunfighter, although the profession is called Pistoleer.

Strategist and Tactitician? Bleah, where's my desk and office chair. And how many Russian gamers did you really satisify with "Commisar"?

-Ex

Yeah, exactly. A Squad Leader implies a combat leader, who actively leads his troops into the field...and not some desk-bound general. None of the titles remotely sound the part, except maybe Field Commander.

What about something actually cool sounding.... like... say, Platoon Leader, Combat Leader, Strike TeamLeader, etc. etc?

Oh, and umm... speaking of titles... What about fixing "Carbinier" ?! It's taken 4 stinking months to correct a spelling mistake. And the Pistoleers already got all their titles changed to more "cool" ones. Seriously. Carbineers get no love. Carbineer/Squad Leader... heh. You get the picture.

Well the ones I have problems with are:

Rally - Takes WAY too much Mind when it fails, and it fails 50% of the time. That's in combat or non-combat. :/ I've had it fail 3 times in a row, by that time i'm almost mind dead.

Steady Aim and Volley Fire dont seem to help very much. (but at least they dont fail)

Forgot the Group Terrain Negotiation, It doesn't help at all. The members of my group that dont have scout skills always fall behind.

NUMBER TWO

The HUGE mind costs associated with SL commands. Carbiniers who complain about their motto being "I bet I can kill me before you can kill me" have never tried being a Squad Leader. I have my stats set so I can just barely wear a full set of nicely sliced armor, and I can usually empty my Mind pool in 3 commands.

It just so happens that I get a double dose of Mind drain because I'm a Carbineer as well as a Master SL. haha...hmm.

Its pretty harsh when I can fail 2 rallies and then have no more chances to use SL skills cause I have to keep the little bit of mind I have left for some very basic carbineer specials.

You actually have to disband your group and reform it yourself when your terrain neg doesn't work for them. That's what I've found at least. My impression has been that it happens when you are added to a group and then the leader does /makeleader on you. But this is so far from the top 20 problems in our profession its barely worth mentioning...

True, its not in top 5. Its just one of mine that i've noticed. I agree with pretty much everyone's opinions about the profession, we just dont offer enough skill wise to groups.

I was also thinking that SL should have the ability to display which members of a group are in need of healing. Im not sure exactly how it would work, but it would be a very helpful skill.

the medical professions have already responed very negativly to this idea, they feel it is insulting to their inteligance that they should be told who to heal when they can just as easily look at the group status bar and figure out who needs healing them selves.

I see really no difference being a Master Squad Leader then when I was 1-1-1-1. Rally rarely works, and eats up a ton of mind. The only skill I ever really use is Form Up. Boost Morale is actually pretty good if you hunt regualry with the same group, and have a bunch of Player Tankers. But honestly, what good does it do the group if I spend 30 seconds outside of combat killing myself trying to get Rally up? My guild (God bless them for being supportive of my profession) and I were doing Rebel missions. Ihad a mind buff so my mind was at 1600. There were 3 NPC imps and about 6 of us. I decided that no matter what, I would get rally to work. I got it to work....with 36 mind left, and two of the three imps dead and the last already about to die. Thats stuipd. I feel like I just leeched off of them.
