Thread: Goodbye I Quit SL Correspondent Position
/salute
He was one of the best, and will still continue to be the star of my comics. Take a look at him folks, this man's a legend.
The great irony in this is that it'll never be read by a red-name.
Goodbye, from another beleaguered professional (Chef yay!)
Man that sucks, I'm not a novice squad leader, but I do know this.
They are one of the key professions in a group. I've been in a group with a squad leader when I first started. Talk about organizations, the moment we saw this msg flying across our screen, we did just that.
Now it's pretty hard being in a group without things going chaotic and people have no idea what to attack or where to go. Then people start spreading out. I try my best in our guild, and overall it's nice, but I know a squad leader would make it just that much easier and less strainous for those that has one in their group.
Later man, sucks how squad leaders are being treated. They're just as vital as any other broken professions, and in some cases, one of the most important professions people have to relie on in a group. Just a shame.
So let me see if I understand correctly: you refuse to cut and paste a report for TH. You instead post a URL because your upset because your reports have gone unread. You rationalizing is why should you repeat what you've already said when you've gone unanswered before. You continue to refuse to comply with the request as stated and TH does not include your reports. You then post the entire conversation in an attempt to make pretty much our only real connection to the developers look like crap.
So let me ask you this - how are we supposed to move forward as a community when we sit there and hold grudges about the past? Yes your reports were ignored in the past, and yes its not flattering to have to write up a new copy when there is already one available. Sure the system sucks and is hard to deal with (who like to have to repeat themselves), but seriously when things are finally looking up and going forward you have to go and have a bad attitude?
Well isn't it obvious? You have next to no attention, and now you're getting attention. If that isn't moving forward that I really don't know what your fishing for.
Cap,
I'm very sad to see you go. As a former Squad Leader, I was looking forward to seeing these changes go through.
However, I wish I could say that I agreed with the way you left - it was a tad disrespectful to air your personal issues with TH here. It doesn't help the profession at all. But I can understand why you did it. 5 months worth of frustrationis hard to simply let go of.
I hope that whoever replaces you demonstrates as much love for this profession as you have.
Good luck.

Not only the Capt'n has revealed to us that SOE's personnel are the WORST. When Thunderhart appeared, everyone applauded and joyed, thinking how would he be the new savior of the damned. I know Thunderhart is a very busy guy (but just how busy?), but even a busy guy can click a link, drag the mouse, hit Ctrl-C and hit the back button. How much time did you lose there? If you're a slowpoke, about 1 minute. So, is it 1 less minute in the bathroom? Watch out you don't wipe yourself correctly because you lost 1 minute copy-pasting the Top 5 Issues. You'll get those nasty itches in your rear later!
What saddens me the most is to see someone as HARDWORKING as CV is. Think about it, think about how SOE would ROCK if every single Developer, lazy programmer and extremely lazy Community correspondant were like the Captain. We would have the most kickass game in the world! The best thing is, Venmox has shown MORE work and dedication than the entire SOE team, and he works for free. Talk about justice, eh?
I'm quite sure the Captain will end up in a high-paying job in a real company (SOE - pfft, you're a joke. Which good company makes a GREAT worker quit his job, even when we has working for free?), if he keeps it up. I salute you as a gamer, and wish you good luck as a person.
And for Sony, congratulations. And remember to wipe from the bottom to the top, not viceversa!
