As I argue above, this is already true. In the current system, our best possible xp is from a group of 20 that does NOTHING. True, under my proposed system, your bonuses would have more of an effect on lower level squad members, but they wouldn't really be doing all that much damage...so if you scale the xp by the amount of damage they do because of you, you could make it so you don't get unreasonable xp bonuses off them. As for the defensive modifiers...if you have a low level person in your group that is fighting tuskens, yeah, you may get some good xp off the lowbie dodging tusken rifle fire, but if just one bolt hits him, he's dead and you'll take a big hit in overall xp because now your group-size bonuse just went down. Besides, if you can keep your lowbie alive by helping him dodge tusken rifle fire, I don't think I mind you getting some pretty good xp for it. Also, to keep your lowbie squad member alive, you're going to have to be pretty active on the support end of things...this will detract from your own damage dealing and your xp from dealing damage would drop. In the end, I think this can be made a balanced system.
