Squad Leader Archive
Thread: An Interesting Idea I just had.
Very good ideas here.
The ones that seem to keep coming up over and over again are:
Squad Leaders should be able to -----
1. Build a combat bunker (not rangers.. they already have awesome camps they can build)
2. Unlock new abilities for other professions when SL is group leader.
3. Have a mind heal ability for SL since their function is to increase moral and give direction and focus to a group.
Some ideas that keep coming up over and over again are
SL should be able to-----
1. Build a combat bunker. (not rangers.. they already have an awesome field base. Could be combined though.... with the SL bunker.)
2. Unlock new abilities for other professions when SL is group leader
3.Have a mind heal ability: SL function is for group morale, focus, and direction
Can you all imagine if these things were ever implemented? We would have an incredible proff...![]()
Make shift bunkers would be interesting, but what about instead of Bunkers, We get stationary Gun units, Like E-webs? One time use item kind of like a camp once moved away from it it is consider abandon and explodes. This would mean that they make so that weapon smiths have to make some of the parts but the SL is the only one with the Knowledge how to assemble it in the field ![]()
Just had another idea that I'm not sure if anyone else has brought up yet.
The radar is a powerful tool. It would be even more powerful if a Master Squad Leader can "see" everything else his squad sees. Since a squad can have up to 20 members, it would be nice if the squad leader can keep track of what is going on around his squad. That wayhe can see if members are getting dangerously close to aggros. This would also be of great help when trying to plan a travel/escape route.
Basically, I would like to have the ability to have my group members' radar overlap on mine so I can have a bigger picture of my surroundings. If travel formations are ever implemented, this would make them immediately useful. Travelling in a file formation would make my radar more narrow, but longer. Travelling in a wedge formation would make my radar wider, but shorter. A squad leader can use these to his advantage while hunting or tracking enemies. That way, I can zoom in and out of the radar as appropriate to see as much as I needed to see.
