I discovered you could do Master Ranger and Master Squad Leader at the same time. That decided it for me.A Leader with skills, that!

Yurii,

How do you attain Master Ranger and Master Squad Leader without greatly sacrificing your combat abilities?

I want to start developing my Ranger abilities, but as it stands right now I'd have to give-up all my Creature Handling skills, then go trap a bunch of creatures /moan. Then I would finally be able to get Master Scout and then Novice Ranger. To reach Master Ranger I see myself having to give-up Pistoleer which I would rather not do because doing so would make me even more combat in-effective. Master Ranger and Master Squad Leader would make an excellent combination in my opinion, but how can I do it without relinquishing nearly all of my Pistoleer skills?

Hadn't really thought about being a SL. Had a friend of mine point out that when I am leading hunts and raids team members start tellin me "ok sarge" or"the sarge said to dosuch and such". Guess I tend to take on a leadership role. Might as wellget the benefits. /shrug

Even after reading how broke it is still like theidea! After all who wouldn't follow the orders of aleader that can kd rancors.

I'm a guild leader, a leader of nature

I knew I'd be SL before the game launchs, the only idea of being the spear head, the first in the charge, sword in the wind... ahhh sweetness of sweetness.

Herioc, proud, for honor dammit! Being a rebel commanding offcier, respected and saluted.

I can't forget the time when people saluted me in a starport, ahhh, the good ole' days

now i feel useless, or people only thinks in holo grinder

It's mostly because I paly Warhamem 40k and love the commissars. And what did I see while cruising through the skill tree, Commissar title!! But they also got some quite neat stuff in there

LOL. I picked SL because there aren't very many good ones in the game (not that i'm all that great either) and because I love watching a well formed wh40k attack...

I support being able to "live" in the world of SWG, not just fight in it.

When I first created my character on Tempest, I was chose the human for two things, crafting and Squad Leader. Although it turned out the leadership mod doesn't really function in the game, I still thought this would be a cool profession to have, even before looked at the skill tree or understood what anything on it meant. I picked it because it mirrors my RL personality. I'm a management major, and my goal in life is to make a career leading and motivating people.

Once I got to Master SL, I realized the downfalls of the profession pretty quickly. I tried to PvP a lot and noticed that I always got owned by the other defense stacked players. But I was the only one with the Master Squad Leader title that I ever saw. I like the unique feeling, and still do. There was one night when a battle had broken out at the Dantooine Imp Outpost when the leader of the biggest Imperial guild on the server invited me to his group, transferred leadership to me and just said "Lead Us". This was like a week after I had gotten MSL and I was stunned at the request. But I was honored at the same time that a leader like that would give me the leadership of his group.

Since then, I have often led the group of elite players on the Imperial side. They can't get enough of the terrain negotiation to complement their all combat builds. My identity has come on the Tempest server because of Master Squad Leader. Sadly enough though, I am really beginning to believe that I will drop that title very soon. The Publish 7 notes don't seem to specify anything about helping us out, and I honestly believe that we really need a revamp. I won't be dropping it entirely, but I think I am going to free up some skill points by dropping down to 4040. Maybe 4010, as the terrain negotiation and formup are really the only commands I ever use, but boostmorale is nice sometimes. I've been Master Squad Leader since September. I am THE Squad Leader on the Tempest server as I don't think there are currently any other Masters (or at least they aren't very public with their title) and have definately held the title for longer than anyone on the server (damn, almost 6 months now, half a year, time flies). I want to try some new things in this game and I need skill points. I've always liked pistols and some of the stats I'm seeing on these new Genosian stun guns are prompting me more towards making that pistol based template I have always thought about, but never had the skill points for.

I really hope that SOE hears the the few of us that are left. I know that most of us have lost all hope of ever getting a booster or a revamp. I salute everyone that has kept this profession because it was the one they wanted to play in this game. I know if it's been tough for all of you, just as it has been for me. I just wish that SOE would change this game so that everyone could play the profession they loved and not constantly question why they had it. But I guess when you don't have a plethora of people whining about the profession, it'll never get changed (unless it's chef and the real reason behind it is to damage other professions).
