I'm sure Cap would be proud of ya Droch.

I am entertained by your use of the word "pollute" to describe how a "whine" or "endless rambling" affects a thread that otherwise has "helpful comments or discussion".

The word pollute implies that the environment was clean previous to the introduction of said pollutant. In other words, the "helpful comments or discussion" had value, and then the "whining" and "endless rambling" reduced the value of the thread.

Having been reading and replying to this board for the last 2 months, I can speak from experience that the vast majority of these "helpful comments" and "discussions" had value the first few times theywere discussed, at least so far asthey communicated the idea to other Squad Leaders. However, original ideas on this board are slim to none these days. Hell, half of the things people come up with here have been in Cap's correspondent report since early September, and the other half have been discussed just as vehemently and determined to be an unpressing matter before the other fixes. Fact of the matter is, the original Squad Leader community got together and produced a setof extraordinary ideas to give this profession measurable value, and submitted them to the SOE development team. Even though the ideas have been asked for on at least 3 different occasions, they have not only gone unheeded, they have not even been responded to.

Now, given this situation, can you understand why a new Squad Leader rehashing one of those ideas might remind some of us of the fact that that very idea has been on the correspondent report for months, and perhaps even cause some anger and derision? Can you understand that we know that expressing our frustation does nothing, but that we also know just as plainly that the thread does nothing whether it contains our frustrated rants or not?

Holy crap. I just realized I have martyr complex. I really am turning into my mom. I know this profession is dead in the water until the devs decide on their own to prioritize it, but I still come here to complain about it knowing full well that it is not within the Squad Leader communities'power to change the devs priorities. This is so utterly pointless. Wow, okay. I think I'm done posting here now. Thanks Droch =)

Here's hoping Squad Leaders don't rot in hell forever. Cheers.
