I concur, concur and concur. SL got the short end of the stick with survival rather than exploration. SL got the short end of the stick needing millions of weapon xp (the combat xp equivalent) but no specials or real mods to get them. SL got the short end of the stick by maintaining specials that are irrelevant in a post CU world.
The only feather for the SL cap is that if someone wants the intimidator they will have to spendtheir SP on a hybrid prof that gives almost no bang for the buck.
I really do hope there is more that just needed to be coded for the SL and hasn't gone into the CU yet. T-minus 2 1/2 weeks til it hits live though...
We have 3 blues who post here and are obviously aware of the issues we are facing. Are you guys voicing these problems to Tiggs and Th and are you get even a yes we are of the problem or are they ingoring you guys as well as us?

Just another person to stick their head in. Rally doesn't work, nor does it seem that volley fire works either. Or atleast I get absolutely no indicator of a success or failure. I do belive that it is draining the action and mind pool though as last night I went into battle full as a tick, tried rally twice, volley fire once, burst shot once, quick fire twice and I was kissing the bottom end of my pools...Then I got rooted and two shotted by an AT-ST
With survival being our scout tree would it be too much to ask for some manner of accelerated HAM regen while grouped with an SL in our camps? After a few duels while armored it became obvious that regen was very slow even buffed. With a lackluster array of abilities this would be something to help out in the feild.
My intended live template WAS going to be MSL/MCarb/NoviceBE for base raids. However the current state of SL has me concerned. I did play with a MSL/MCarb/Pistol 0134 template which was extremely nice on the books, again the SL portion falls short atm.
With the current spread of rooting and snare abilities, as well as state recoverys sprinkled throughout the professions...Maybe some movement can be made to turn /formup into a Status Resist special which will make members immune to all status effects save posture changes for a short period of time. Something to assist on a charge, or to use right before a retreat. That alone would make SL something mainstream...

Its very frustrating though, I don't know how they could kill probably the weakest combat class in the game. Here is a suggestion I guess to try and make what we have before our revamp semi useful:
Form Up: Since state effects now have counters have form up now effectively clear any debuff that applies to the group but have it on a 30 second cool down.
Rally: Give bonuses to defenses against state effects and a small bonus to your movement speed.
Boost Morale: Give the group a bonus to either Health Regen, Action or Mind regen or have it a smaller bonus apply to all 3 for a short time.
Steady Aim: Grant accuracy to all mods, while standing, while movement and the aim command and increase the success of "critical attacks". Steady aim should last 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Volley Fire: Honestly I say can this thing and replace it with a call target or paint target ability that would give bonuses to damage if the group chooses to attack it.
Thats all I can really think of since our skills pre CU now cannot even work. Very ticked off but i'll still stand with the community, devs should realize though if they intend to keep SL the way it is till the revamp they are going to lose probably the last remaining veterans of the profession.

They certainly are going to lose me. This isn't what I was excited about after the summit. This isn't what we were promised at all.

and thats scares me about the whole CU.
I read in the Carbiner forum where TAfirehawk - carbineer corresp. - tries to hold his ground but had to admit that the CU on TC is so raw that it more feels like an pre alpha.
I read here that irott - SL corresp. - said that this wasnt what he "saw in the sandbox".
Ackehece - rifleman corresp. - is pondering about that needs to be done, but everything is just so plain obvious.
And now DiLune - marksman corresp. - is losing his faith too.
This all scares me more and more.
Especially since these guys should know stuff still locked behind the NDA what could save us till everything is out.
But if everything they promised is not going to happen and everything that happens just makes it worse.
*sigh*
Im not dropping MSL.
My IC character can't do that.
But Im getting more and more frustrated and I was a huge PRO CU before.

Don't get me wrong here. I'm referring to SL in particular. I like a lot of what they've done with the CU. There are raw edges that need to be taken care of before it hits live. But SL, on the other hand...

Add /volley fire to the bug list too. It doesn't do ANYTHING at all just like /rally (no sys message, spatial or combat log spam, no indicator of any kind), so its broken.

Read Ackehece: Is pondering what needs to be done but knows and is trying to figure a way to get the devs to listen to her for the 30th or so time about this.

I do like a lot of what they did with the CU. Melee and Ranged is balanced and all profession have their role, PvP is open to all professions, ...
But these raw edges can easily become game breaking, especiall this lvl-damage mitigation.
I just imagine this:
+standing in front of a star port+
/shout looking for lvl 50+ ranged and melee group. No MDocs No MSL!

Sorry shouldnt sound like you didnt know what to do, but like the DEVs dont listen to the correspondents and with that to a lot good ideas of the community who were trying to help them.
They just have to drop a short visit to the forums, there are plenty of good ideas going around here and they are all for free! They (the DEVs) dont have to reinvent the wheel. But fixing a high tech sportscar (SWG) with parts from a 1950 truck (EQ or EQ2) will not result in a fun and fast ride.
Ahh,... I better stop posting my frustrating here and hope for the best....

Its the silence that kills me. When the devs have nothing to say it tends to lead me to the conclusion that they have nothing to offer. I believe we are being sacrificed here. With so many bugs and issues and such a time crunch they don't have time to work on it all and it looks like we are the ones who get left behind. The problems is we are the ones who have always been left behind. It stinks no two ways bout that.

And the fact that we are SUPPOSED to be the center of the CU, like look at that diagram. They might as well take SL out of that, make a little trash can icon on the bottom right hand and show a dev hand tossing the profession into that. That is how I feel about SL in the CU at this moment.

SL needs attention, even more now the game is becoming a mmog where a person to dictate who attack, when attack, have specials to make this function more easy are a must!
We need a special where we can mark the target we wanna the group attack
We need a special where we can set up a waypoint to all ppl in the game see
We need a special to make our group more effective.
We need our old specials fixed and our group mods enhanced!
Plz, make SL a profession desireable because we pay too much to have it (2 pre req columns from 2 dirent basic profession (scout/marksman))
